re: MPP. I definitely saw a lot of weird chatter on Twitter about her not getting the surgery right away too. I'm glad we didn't really see any of it here, because it is that infuriating.

Anon about the article possibly being a clickbait, I thought about it too and thought the journalist used her platform to hide what she was thinking herself

then went on Facebook and saw few comments. So now I know few people (do not call them fans) shared this awful view about Poulin getting the surgery instead of going to the Safari.

I lost faith in humanity long ago and this won’t help

Imagine having a surgery and recovering during summer: it is the worst time of the year for that and especially if you live in cities like Montreal, Québec or Toronto.

Ok I’m kidding, it is the worst time of the year to recover from surgery and be in rehab wherever you live.

So I’m sorry some fans feel like they have a say in what someone else do and I’m sorry some fans don’t know their place.

I would have done the same: enjoying my life a lot before surgery and before the mental challenge to come with it for me and for my wife.

MPP is doing what she wants to. Besides, she and Stacey put their honeymoon second and even last just to play and bring the Cup to Mtl and Canada. MPP herself played with a torn ACL and a meniscus injury. Not enough for you?

While we're on the topic of salaries! Together, they make way more than $180,000. In reality, they’re closer to $500k. The $180k the other person mentioned pretty much only accounts for their PWHL salaries (around 110k + 80k-ish). An important detail people often seem to forget is that PWHL salaries are in US dollars. So for a Canadian player playing in a Canadian market, their salary stretches a lot further. $110k USD is roughly $154,500 CAD, and $78k is around $109,500-ish CAD. Right off the bat, you’re already way past that $180k mark.

They're also on the national team, so they also get a salary there, and that salary is another $100k+ (since they have major roles, get the most ice time, etc. Not every member of the national team makes $100k just for being on the roster). And of course, there are sponsorships for each of them.

Personally, I like it when you share these kinds of asks you receive. Its different and It’s not inappropriate, despite what some might think. It’s just a reality that MPP and Laura make a good living and can afford big trips. (Good for them, they deserve it!)

Jeses. Tumblr and Twitter act, thst they only can afford the safari cause of the advertisment. Pou and Laura earn together over 180000 per year. Both have also sponsirships and bonus salary from the Olympivs and the WC. A 30000 safari is not a problem for them.

Not that deep anon. Really I found it amusing and I’m happy they can pay for that, their money their way to spend it.

In this economy, 30k is a lot for some and I get why the anon pointed out and why anyone can see it as a lot. You rarely juge money based on someone else pocket but rather based on your situation hence why some can be impressed by the fees.

Stacey will keep her A but she'll be the one to temporarily replace the captain. I'm also certain that Tabin will officially get her A for the entire season this year, since she wore it a few times during the 2025-2026 season. The third A remains a mystery to me. I really don't know who could wear it. I won't lie, I like the idea of Lungbloom, but I'm not sure if she's quite there yet. Labelle would also be a good choice, but her one-year contract bothers me in this situation bc this year, one-year contracts aren't guaranteed, so I don't know if the team will go in that direction for the third A not knowing how that will play out.

It doesn't matter who get's the third A cause Laura is the highest ranked A and Tabin will likely get the other one. When Pou comes back she has her C again and the third A not needed anymore.

I don’t think this is the conversation we are in anon. And it matters because Poulin will likely not play the next season or will be back for the playoffs so the choice of the 3 As will be crucial. I assume Stacey will be the first A, we still need to have the other 2 and even two more who won’t be wearing the A but can fill in if one of the As are not there.

I will add, it is not because Tabin was one of the As last season that she will have one this season, although logically she should.

I can't see either how Mattivi can help as A. Honestly I want Lavelle or Dunois as A.

Oh Labelle could be a great A. Anon you are onto something. Dubois I’m not sure, I think she still has the imposter syndrome more than the rest so perhaps she won’t be doing a good job. But Labelle is indeed a great candidate for the A.

Not to take anything away from Tabin, and especially Darkangelo and Boulier, but their 'A's weren't permanent/official. It was just a temporary thing because of league rules that probably don't allow a team to run with only one alternate captain, especially when the captain and your second A are missing from the team at the same time. I find that a bit ridiculous considering Laura was still there and was the highest-ranking A. The refs already went directly to her anyway. So I didn’t really understand the urgency of having other temporary A's on the team. That said, those extra A's were likely handed out to keep some leadership going in the room, for the players themselves, rather than just for on-ice duties.

I understand Anon but the rulebook states the obligation to have 3 As hence why. But Stacey spoke highly about Darkangelo leadership so I think she was a great A even if temporary.

But i don’t know about Tabin, she doesn’t seem like a leader, perhaps because she seems less vocal so I won’t juge her.

Mattivi doesn't deserve the A. They should give the A to a player who i longer at Montreal.

And I can see that they give Stacey the C as long as Pou is out and Tabin and Flaherty the A.

Darkangelo got the A (she was one of the 3 A, when Ambrose and Poulin were out and she was an additional A even when she did not have A on her jersey) although she was not there for long. Leadership is not about how long, it’s about how you can help.
