You’re a lifesaver. I’ll pay you okay.
“Not that I’m opposed to getting money, but I’m just braiding your hair.”
“Well now you can’t trust them to make you even more dashily handsome.” The blonde smiled, “What are you all made up for anyway? Something special?”
“Yes, that’s always true. No, not really. This is just how I dress everyday. Why not look good all of the time, rather than just on special occasions?”
“Suit yourself then.” The girl huffed before returning to her cigarette. Without looking at him she held up her lighter, “Want a light if you’re gonna stand there?”
“I will.” Mitchell pulled out his box of cigarettes and got one out before taking the lighter and lighting it then handing her back the lighter. “Thanks. I’m Mitchell by the way.”
“Well… what do you think is wrong with it?”
“I don’t know. It’s just one of those things you can tell something is wrong but you don’t know what.”
You’re amazing. I’m Auden. Nice to meet you. I just want to braid this stupid hair.
Thank you, I know I am. I’m Mitchell and you’re lucky. I can manage a braid quite well.
“I swear on my life. I wouldn’t lie to you about this.”
“I’m going to hold you to that.”
“It’s like– you know that feeling when you see a baby with like really chubby cheeks or an adorable puppy or something and you just get this strange urge to squeeze them really hard but you can’t? It’s like that, but with fall.”
“Yes, I think I completely get what you’re saying. Although that’s not the description I would give exactly, I can appreciate it. So yes. Fall is amazing, it’s the best.”
Rude. Now you have to help. It’s a serious bad hair day. No hats for this mess.
I wasn’t going for rude. Fine, I’ll try to help. But like I said, one person can only do so much.
“I don’t know, it looks pretty good to me.”
“That’s what people are telling me, but I don’t think it looks right.”
“Aww, well why did you get someone else to do your makeup then?” Dot smiled, “I still don’t think its that bad though, you look good!”
“Because they asked if they could and said they knew what they were doing.” Mitchell shrugged. “I’ll take your word for it, but I’m still not sure about it.”
“Yea. Okay, whatever.” The girl took another drag, “Okay for real, why are you still here?”
“This is a public place where people can stand freely.”
“Um..” , Peyton paused to look down at her current situation. “I can explain?”
“Really kinky sex where they forgot to untie you?”
“I don’t think you understand how hyped I am for the entire month of October. If it was logical I would totally cover myself in pumpkins and leaves and drink cider and walk around with Halloween movie soundtracks playing in the background for the entire month.”
“I think I do. Okay, no, maybe I don’t. I don’t think I would go as far as to cover myself in pumpkins and leaves. But pumpkin spice lattes and cider are the best things. So, that’s always exciting.”
My hair is broken. Fix it.
There’s only so much one person is capable of fixing.
“The fuck are you looking at?”
“I wasn’t staring at anything.”
“Oh I don’t know. I think you look stunning!”
“Please, it looks like a toddler drew on my face. See, this is what happens when you let somebody else do your makeup. They mess it up.”
“I think it looks nice. I’ve done mine ten times worse before.”
“Everyone has, Darling. ARe you really sure it looks fine?”
