wow, hi guys, it’s been a while. i think for sake of everyone’s vision, i’ll spare the details as to why i kinda dropped off the planet like i did- but know that i am back now (though very slowly, because i don’t want to overload myself like i’m known to do), and i am more than thankful for admins woo and gyu for being so willing to step up and just run things so smoothly while i had to take some time away. 

i am back, though, which means i have a lot of catching up to do! sadly, i don’t really remember at all what i was doing before i had to go, but if we had a thread and you’d like to continue it, please let me know! and if you would like to plot, you can like this or message me and i would be happy to, though i do ask that everyone be a little patient with me because there are going to be a few small changes to jessica’s character (small, very small) that i need to make and general updates that need to be done before i can fully say that i’m back.

From Jaerim, Jessica learned that being in a position of authority was taxing at times, and how he exactly managed to balance being a surgeon, a father, and a second in command, she’ll perhaps never understand fully. She was there though, witness to every struggle and at some points, when ‘business’ called, his own saviour in the form of a babysitter for his daughter. 

She’s proud, beyond proud, that he made the decision to get out of it all, that Miyoung’s safety was more important to him than anything else. Hesitant to take the reigns of such an organization (one that held upstanding morals, but had always considered her more of an outlier than anything else, always too brash, too willing to go beyond the protocol, too intense), Jessica has been trying to make it work, to not command too harshly, but not let anything go properly unpunished or ignored. It’s a fine line, she learns, and one that the more civility-inclined certainly don’t seem to appreciate. She’s a rogue at best, an unforgiving ace hidden within a card deck that can’t be predicted. 

Admittedly, her idea of ‘approval’ elicits an unladylike snort. Still though, it’s apparently something that must be done, and Jessica cannot but oblige. It’s still too early to butt heads, and if playing nice was what she had to do, that she would. She won’t argue to being treated dinner by someone (though sometimes it does offend her senses- she’s a woman, yes, but she works for a living, and anyone who knew just who her father was would know that), but when that someone is sent out to confirm or deny the sensibility of leadership, she’s more than a little on edge. 

Upon arrival, she’s lead by a host to Sukjin’s table, dressed up to play just the part that she had been playing for most of her life, and nods her head in thanks to the man before seating herself across from the elder.

Jessica was anything if not used to the antics of her brothers when it came to setting her up, though she never really was appreciative of him making it his business as to who was suitable for her or not. It had always been this way though, Yukwon casually talking about an acquaintance he had met recently or introducing her to men at business parties in a subtle suggestion of ‘I approve’, Jessica had simply never followed up past a first date, and let her brother be content with himself if that was what it took. 

Tonight is no different than any other night, excluding the fact that once again, Jessica has agreed to entertain one of her brother’s suggestions. By now, she knows the type that he picks for her, and expects nothing different (though a part of her hopes at least for a good conversation). She knows his name, and what he does for a living, but beyond that she’s dubious. 

Her attire is casual, and almost feels odd without the familiar white coat that felt like a part of her, but she digresses, at the very least she was polite enough not to attempt to appear as elevating herself to others. Jessica is thankful for having punctuality bred into her, and the habit of arriving early. It allows her the few, precious minutes to calm her nerves, ones that always rose in anticipation of the unknown. She smooths down her hair one more time, down today in an effort to look like the refined young woman she was bred to be, and not-so-subtly watches the door over a condensation coated glass of red wine.

hi guys! this is admin liz (i have no self control and am REALLY excited for the changes coming to mi, so i had to bite the bullet and bring jessica back), if you’re a long-er time member of the rp, you may remember that jessica before was in black lotus, and poised to become the sic. due to the issues at the time of my departure, that never happened. so for those of you who remember her, she is still very much the same! simply salvatore now c:  (i have former admin jaerim’s blessing and legacy to follow for this spot so please help me out LOL)

anything that happened in jessica’s storyline the first time i brought her in, doesn’t apply to this time around (since those people are no longer present), so those plots are reopened and i’m basically starting from scratch with her! 

i would like a lot of development to happen, so right off, her brothers are npcs for now, but if we have a lawyer muse that is interested in being her older brother, that would be wonderful, and pref. a drug dealer muse or some sort (the black sheep of the picture perfect family to the public p much let’s go with that) as a younger brother (around 19/20 preferably) then i’m super interested in finding you and plotting! otherwise... i have a plots page up here ! that you’re welcome to browse and take plots from. all of them are workable as well and most i’m not really picky about c:

Hey guys!! Just a little note that I'd like to take on a few more plots for this gal here~ I do have a fairly updated plots page that can be found on her blog but for quick info- Jessica is the second in command of black lotus so I am ALL for plots with black lotus members and figuring out her relationships with them etc (or questioning why she became the sic over them, questioning her relationship with Jasung, anything give me anything really) and for anyone more on the good side of the law feel free to question why Jessica didn't follow her older brother or father's footsteps (her father is seoul's longest serving judge and her brother is one of the region's most successful criminal defense attorneys) and became a nurse instead ~ I think that's all I have to say but if you have any ideas at all please feel free to message me! He wants to take some time to be with his girlfriend, especially since they’re in a place that isn’t monitored by the gang, but at the same time, it’s a public place where anyone can see the kiss he plants on her cheek. He loves that smirk on her lips, and his own surfaces to mirror hers as he comments lowly for only her ears, “Do you want me to start talking about how beautiful it sounds when you scream my name?” He’s partially kidding, because even though he won’t admit it out loud, she’s probably one of the few voices he’ll ever listen to about the decisions he’s making. 

Maybe that’s why he kept his distance from her while he was away.

But partial kidding aside, he wants to know what’s up. What’s got her on leave for two weeks that he can steal her for, and why of all places, the bar and not Club Ace. His fingers stroke her hair briefly, moving to lean against the bar. “So mind telling me what’s going on that we’re here in the middle of the night?”

“You could,” She drawls, pulling away after he’s said his piece to pat his cheek teasingly. “Or I could do you better and give you a live sample behind closed doors later.” Her smirk grows into a slight grin even though she’s really joking, for a little while at least. She would make it up to him, but not without having her own share of fun with it in the process.

Her head tilts towards his hand instinctively though the gesture only lasts a moment and she sighs. She had always appreciated Jasung’s ability to get to the point of anything, and of course it wouldn’t be any different now. “Well” She starts, pausing only to take a sip of her beer and set it on the bar next to them. Jessica is relieved that they’re not at their gang’s bar, and that she doesn’t exactly have to put on some sort of facade, or hold back on her intake for appearance’s sake. Her hands reach for Jasung’s and she places them on her waist, knowing that the thick padding of gauze could easily be felt through her clothing. Before he can speak she steps forward, leaning upwards to kiss him and laughing. “You’re looking at the new second in command, babe.”

She takes a breath and glances at the rain splattered window. It’s been so long since she’s talked about her parents, let alone described them personally. But she looks at the way Jessica is leaning in, a smile on her face, and it makes her feel like this is something they both deserve. So she lets the words pour out. “She was really warm-and really strong, actually. I was dragged into the kitchen every Saturday or so because she insisted on building my life skills. She used to say “Soojung, my dear, you’re brilliant. And because you are brilliant, you have to use your talents wherever you can. Today, that would be baking”. She was stern sometimes…but only because she cared.” Krystal smiles faintly. “She was always so confident about everything, and people used to say how strange it was that she’d had a quiet kid like me…she was that kind of person.” It hurts to remember what she’s lost, but these feelings have been bottling up inside her for too long. Talking about her mother, even for a little bit, has released them. 

“I’m sorry I don’t have any pictures,” she unhooks the bear keychain at her hip, and holds it up. “This is the only thing I saved.” The fire destroyed everything in the house at the time, including albums and any memories they had stored. .For some reason she had never met or even heard about either of her parents’ relatives, otherwise she could have avoided living in foster homes, or at least gotten some photos. Her dad had mentioned grandparents overseas once or twice, but not her mother.

She places the keychain on the table. It’s been with her since the beginning, and she’s probably attached to it more than she should be. In Krystal’s mind, that’s okay. The people she’s loved have always left eventually, and something had to comfort her if somebody wouldn’t. Which reminds her that Jessica must have a ‘somebody’. “What are your adopted parents like?” She hopes the question isn’t too personal or rude, but she’s genuinely curious. It seems strange, but she could have had another family if someone adopted her. Maybe it would have been better that way.

As Soojung describes their mother Jessica smiles, thoroughly entranced by the weekend antics that Soojung was pulled into. Every opinion that she had had of her mother before dissipated with that, and in the way that the younger talked about her, Jessica realized that her mom hadn’t been a bad person at all, and in fact was nothing like she thought but everything she hoped. Her chest aches at the thought that she could have been there too, if their mother hadn’t decided to leave her behind, but maybe this had all been for the better, even if it sounded like Soojung had suffered since.

She wanted to help her, every fibre of her being wished that she had been there for Soojung, even if it meant missing out on the life that she had now. If she had then maybe Soojung wouldn’t be here today, looking worse for wear and sounding like she was more alone than she’d like to admit. The possibility that Jessica had a family member struggling for so long without her knowledge hurts, because she would have jumped at the opportunity to help and reconnect with her own roots.

“It’s okay.” She half smiles at the bear keychain that the other produces and reaches for it hesitantly, examining it fondly before setting it back down. It’s hard to imagine just how much more than family Soojung lost in the fire, and Jessica can’t bear the thought of going through such an event herself. She laughs a little as Soojung asks about her parents in return, taking a sip of her drink before speaking. “They’re good.” She smiles again and nods more to herself than anything. “My, uh, my father is a judge and I have two brothers. The older one is a lawyer, a pretty good one I guess-” Jessica sighs lightly and shrugs, “The younger is a salesman, cars you know? I don’t know, I mean.. I’m thankful for them. They’ve really been nothing but kind to me.”
