i mostly just reblog andd post some drawings occasionally lol
i'll only be posting about project sekai here as it is my current main interest (i love love love niigo but also love love love every other group and all the characters! my most favourite are mizuki, ena, rui)
actually i have an overwhelming obsession with mizuki if i'm being honest LMAO
uh is anything else supposed to go here?
this is just an n25 crack scenario (no kanade sry) with some mizuena fluff sprinkled in. ena will be the butt of the joke of course. (629 words)
“Absolutely not!” Ena seethed.
“Come onnn!”
“Do you hate me, is that it? Do you like watching me suffer?”
The distress in her wide eyes was almost enough to make Mizuki relent. Almost.
“Enanan, you're acting so defeatist already. Who knows, you might be really good at it.”
“Mizuki.” She lowered her voice to a furious whisper. “I've never beaten Mafuyu at anything in my life. You can't seriously think I'll start with chess.”
It was time to pull out the big guns. Mizuki hunched over to make herself shorter and looked up at Ena with her best puppy dog eyes.
“Please? Just for a little bit?”
She threw in a quivering lip for good measure.
“Ugh… fine! I'll play!”
Hook, line, and sinker.
“So we can start now?” Mafuyu cut in, impatience clear even on her stony face.
“Mizuki, you have to help me though,” Ena insisted, sitting down in front of the board.
“But at that point, it'd be like I'm playing and you're just moving the pieces.”
“Doesn't sound so bad.”
“Nuh-uh. I'm here for emotional support only. I'll even hold your hand if you need me to.”
She's joking… right?
“You're first, Ena,” said Mafuyu. “Do you know the rules?”
“Wha– Obviously. I'm not that dumb.”
In truth, she was struggling to jog her memory as she spoke. The small ones were pawns, of course, which only moved one space forward. Or two sometimes? And diagonal to attack? In her opinion, there was no reason for such a lousy piece to be so complicated.
At any rate, they were all lined up in the front, so it made sense to move one of them first. Would it make any difference which one? She had no idea, but picking at random felt wrong. Still, however much she waited for an epiphany to strike, she came up empty. Having Mafuyu across from her and Mizuki pressed against her side didn't help at all, both watching intently, both (though she loathed to admit it) much smarter than her. Unable to bear the scrutinizing silence any longer, she thought fuck it and grabbed the third pawn from the right, moving it up one space.
She didn't dare even peek at Mizuki's reaction. For once, Mafuyu's constant poker face felt like a blessing. She made her own move: The pawn right in front of her king, forward two.
Far too quickly, it was Ena's turn again. She now remembered that pawns could move two spaces only when leaving their start positions. That seemed like as good a thing as any to try. After gliding her hand over the pieces a few times in indecision, she landed on the one to the right of her prior pick.
Mafuyu moved her queen diagonally until it reached the edge of the board. Then, Ena could swear she almost saw her smiling as she said the dreaded word— “Checkmate.”
It all happened so fast, faster than she could process. She blinked at the board, open-mouthed.
Mizuki whined, “Enaaa, were you just trying to get it over with or what?
“N-no, I— How did that—?” She finished her sentence with a pathetic, defeated groan.
For some reason, Mizuki's whole demeanor changed right then, bratty pout replaced with a soft smile. While Mafuyu busied herself with packing up the game, she leaned forward to pat Ena on the head.
“You did such a good job.”
“Don't lie,” Ena muttered, leaning into the touch. “I got my ass kicked.”
“No. You knew you'd get your ass kicked but you did it anyway. That's one of the things I like most about you.”
“I only did it ‘cause you wanted me to.”
“Hehe, I like that too.”
Oh. Maybe that stupid game had been worth it after all.
