final slip dress design inspired by 70s disco.

initial designs for the project, 70s inspired slip dresses with modern accents.

for the project i decided to look into slip dresses, this would be my modern twist on the 1970s as it is a very current style - however i saw that maxi dresses were very popular in the decade and are of a similar style, so i drew inspiration from that.

collage inspired by the song ‘dancing queen’ by abba - i made this in a workshop with an artist from the industry during work experience.

the brief for this project was revival - taking influence from a past era and making it modern - so i decided to look into high end competitor research.

for this project i wanted to look into popular culture of the 1970s, as well as 70s revival (such as tv and film inspired by the decade). this is one of my inital mood boards for the project.
