The Legend of Surgeon Joco182, The Unbound
(via https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wX5hUGAuuP0)
Destination: Destiny
There are a lot of games this year that hold or will still hold the title of the biggest sensation of the year… There is, of course, not a lot left from this years line up so the potential winner is almost a given. We’ve seen quite a lot of great games so far in this generation of gaming but considering the very upsetting fact that so far, the generation fails to hit the so desired “mind-blowing” mark; unfortunately most of these titles managed to make an undeniable flop…
So what can one do after forking out a considerable amount of money for some of these “brilliant” titles? Well, burning discs is considered quite old fashioned while being very much against nature and nowadays - thanks to the boom of the ever-growing online marketplaces - it isn’t even an option anymore. This is exactly the predicament that I’m in at the moment with one of the biggest releases of this generation: Destiny. Yes. I consider myself a massive Halo fan and no, I haven’t collected all of the hidden skulls and shit. I only play the game, I don’t make love to it… often. When Bungie announced the game, (after shouting “HALO!!!” like a horny donkey in a strip club) I still managed to stay realistically optimistic about the thing. I mean come on. FPS, guns, aliens and looks like Halo. And yes… It looks like Halo. But that’s good, surely. Well, with a brand new IP that’s supposed to be the big bang of the next gener… FLOP! I mean it’s all good and sexually appealing but only for a good 8-10 hours. Then you start realising that it is not fun anymore as the effing HIGHLY repetitive levels eat away at your soul. I believe that when you manage to figure out a tactic to do a level/mission/strike/dungeon from the beginning to the end (while having your dinner) means that you’ve played way too much with that particular game. You might be saying: “But hey 182! I think the game is fun and you can expect such a phenomenon in an MMORPG!” Then I’ll kindly ask you to STFU as this is my article! But of course, you’re right - and I hate that - but all this after 10-15 hours of gameplay? (Yes, the time just increased because you simply can’t let a game go to waste after such a short period of time and after spending such a huge amount of money.) As some of my highly educated colleagues would say here in the UK: “Jog on!”
The game truly is trying to be a good MMORPG and at some points it performs so well, that even after the ridiculously tedious and repetitive missions, you CAN actually still enjoy the game. These little bits are related as much to the multiplayer aspect of the game as the undying need for every human being to hoard shit. #DatLootTho
There is a fair amount of loot that even though is worth collecting, most of the time leaves you with the most popular 4-letter word (starts with “s”) while keeps pushing you to try again. There are quite a few exotic and legendary loot that will leave your jaw hanging until some birds will nest in it. I am of course, talking about the armour mainly as in an MMORPG that is the thing that you would want to have a lot of. Considering the fact that the only reason people play MMORPGs is to show off and get better armour that they look sexy in (or at least their characters) and not like themselves (In my case, a fatso with an ugly face, wearing glasses.).
This is - without a doubt - “MMORPG 1.0.1” in every planet that I’ve been to so far. Funny enough, Bungie manages to ignore this almost completely. There is a grouping area, called the Tower where one can enjoy the glamorous outfits of the declining civilisation of the last city on Earth. But THAT’S IT! There is one more level where you’ll have the option to grab a sword and “cut dem biatches down” but that only lasts for a bit towards the end of that particular strike. I was on the verge of begging to Bungie to include at least the option to switch to 3rd person view but my pleas did not get answered.
The amusing thing is that the game has been advertised as a 3rd person view game. However hard I try, I simply cannot recall any advertisement or gameplay video where the fps nature of the game would’ve come up.
So all in all, what’s the verdict and overarching conclusion? Destiny is a good game and it has the potential to be a brilliant game. I only played the vanilla version of it and maybe when you fork out the equivalent of two full priced games like Bungie wants you to, then it will be a great game. However, considering the substantial amount of money that went into its making and the fatal blow that it received after the game was chopped up to about 3-4 uneven pieces, that will be soon turned into paid DLCs, there’s little to look forward to when talking about Destiny… or maybe it’s fate…?

Rise of the Tomb Raider
Well, more like: The Fall Flat On Her Face Tomb Raider...
Crystal Dynamics announced today at games com that yes, they already released about 4 editions of the Tomb Raider reboot so now they don't need more money. At least not from the fans. Why?
Rise of the Tomb Raider goes Xbox exclusive!
Seriously, if Lara Croft wouldn't just be able to do all that cool stuff and dodge bullets and arrows, I am sure that she would make quite a serious dent on her forehead right about now. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinions but we all know that this wasn't a clever move... Here's the "apology" message.
Dear Tomb Raider Community,
As you may have seen, we’ve just announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider, coming Holiday 2015, is exclusively on Xbox. We consider all of you to be the lifeblood of Tomb Raider and the work we do at Crystal. I’d like to give you some insight into this decision, and why we feel this is the very best thing for the Tomb Raider sequel we’re creating at the studio.
Tomb Raider in 2013 was a success due in large part to your continued support. Our goal has always been to deliver something truly special with Rise of the Tomb Raider. Today’s announcement with Microsoft is one step to help us put Tomb Raider on top of action adventure gaming. Our friends at Microsoft have always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and have believed in our vision since our first unveil with them on their stage at E3 2011. We know they will get behind this game more than any support we have had from them in the past - we believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft.
This doesn’t mean that we’re walking away from our fans who only play on PlayStation or on PC. Those are great systems, with great partners, and amazing communities. We have Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris coming to those platforms this December, and Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition is available on PS4.
We know that there are probably many more questions and concerns. Please do send them to us, and we’ll answer to the best of our ability. Meanwhile we’re going all out to try and make something truly special - the most ambitious Tomb Raider game ever built.
Thanks,
Darrell Gallagher Crystal Dynamics Head of Studios
Please tell me that you guys didn't just announce your next big hit (and your salary) on a console that sold HALF the amount as the competition. In Layman's terms: PS4 sold twice as many consoles as the Xbox One. I'm all for trying to be competitive and stuff but this is just ridiculous. I would understand the thinking behind this move IF we were talking about the PS3 and Xbox 360 where the cost of a brand new console is only a mere £120-150 (compared to the current gen, of course) so the "price of switching" or purchasing an additional console would not set people back with the same amount as their monthly mortgage. But this is not the case. From being a multi-platform game, you guys went and alienated at least half of your audience. The funny thing is that I know the data and you guys know the data. The PS4 sold more consoles than the Xbox One. Simple.
We can also guess what Microsoft wants to do here. Without a proper platform exclusive title (of course, you have the great Halo series and Fable promises to be at least as fun as the previous ones, they still lost the exclusivity to Splinter Cell, for example) they want to match the likes of Uncharted (which is the obvious target market here), inFamous and the Last of Us.
Again, understandable move but it is not a move that any of the affected parties will be able to live and work with. While some might not even give a flying p00p about Microsoft, Square Enix and/or Crystal Dynamics, I, for one, am very concerned for them as well as the most important party that must feel as loved as a Meg Griffin from Family Guy, the players...

Flesh-Hungry Suarez Invited To UK’s First Zombie Wedding
We wouldn't do such a thing but this one time, thanks to the extremely funny nature of it, here's the actual press release from Deep Silver. (with some additional photos. Enjoy :D
Premiership footballer (and zombie in training) invited to the first UK zombie-themed wedding to celebrate the launch of Dead Island RiptideTM
Today, videogame publisher Deep Silver issued an open invitation to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez to attend as the guest of honour at the UK’s first wedding to feature a zombie bride and groom.
Another one bites in us!
Jennifer Jones, 27, and Rob Blackmore, 31 – both from Suarez’s beloved Liverpool – will be joining in unholy matrimony tomorrow night in Central London as part of the celebrations for the launch of new zombie videogame, Dead Island Riptide™. The couple will be made up to look like the undead creatures normally found shuffling and preying on the living in a zombie apocalypse videogame. Deep Silver believes that Suarez – who bit Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic on the arm during the second half of Sunday’s 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Chelsea – will fit in well alongside the flesh-eating zombie hordes at the wedding. Mark Fisher, Head of UK Marketing, Deep Silver, said: “Luis Suarez is currently getting a hard time in the media following his Branislav bite down, but at Deep Silver we understand those who have an appetite for human flesh like the zombie hordes found in Dead Island Riptide. With that in mind, we’d be delighted to have Suarez attend our zombie wedding… just as long as he’s aware that the bride and groom might bite back!” Over 250 people will gather to bear witness to zombie Jenn and zombie Rob’s nuptials, including friends and family who travelled down from Liverpool to see the couple get hitched zombie-style. The pair became the official Dead Island Riptide zombie wedding bride and groom after entering a competition on Facebook, and beat off dozens of applicants earlier this year by impressing the judges with their genuine love for each other, and enthusiasm for the Dead Island franchise. The unorthodox wedding ceremony will take place at One Mayfair in London, which will be dressed to look like a Caribbean paradise gone to hell – a theme that runs through the Dead Island series of games. The latest of which, Dead Island Riptide, goes on sale in the UK this Friday, 26th April 2013. Following the wedding blessing and exchanging of the vows presided over by a zombie priest, the ceremony will provide the usual trappings found at a traditional wedding, including: the speeches, cutting of the cake and the first dance… but all with a ghoulish zombie twist. Live music will be provided by zombified band Mariachi Mexteca, as well as a DJ set from presenter and actress Sarah Chapman. As well as hosting a zombie-style beach wedding, Dead Island Riptide’s publisher, Deep Silver, will also be sending the undead couple off on a Caribbean honeymoon.
Of course, it is possible that Suarez just wanted to become as famous as the kid who got bit by Charlie. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OBlgSz8sSM) :)
Dead Island Riptide will be available to chew on, on April 26, 2013.
Surgeon Simulator 2013 - Launch Trailer
Bossa Studios, the creators of the successful and BAFTA winner Monstermind, created a game that can only be described as one of the most difficult games since QWOP, the online indie game that made you laugh so hard that your tears (thanks to the continuous crying) were listed in the credits. We're saying "probably" because we did not manage to finish the track ONCE! :D
Surgeon Simulator 2013 aims at something similar that surely will result in some great gaming moments. Of course, if anyone from Bossa Studios tells you that they can do a certain operation on you for cheaper than an actual doctor, don't believe them. :)
Surgeon Simulator is available on Steam now.

Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon: Mark IV Style Motherf***er Trailer
Far Cry 3 is gearing up for its first DLC with a complete change of the usual theme. Ubisoft also tried to take the "funny" route for such a serious game. So far, Ubi makes this bold move successful with this hilarious trailer that was obviously drawing inspiration from some of the cartoons from the 1980s. :)
For ultimate fans and people who like to mess around with such a huge and complex game, this DLC is highly recommended.
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon DLC is out May 1, 2013.
Batman Arkham Origins Logo Revealed
The third game of the extremely successful “Batman Arkham” franchise just popped its head out to take a peek and left us with a great looking logo.
The game is going to be developed by Armature Studios and not Rocksteady which is a bummer as Rocksteady managed to create an absolutely great franchise from the legend of the Dark Knight. Hopefully the quality will stay the same or becomes even better, even though that’s quite a goal to set for anyone.
Splinter Cell Blacklist - The Fifth Freedom Collector's Edition Unboxing
