If you take care of a sick person, please remember to get fresh air and surround yourself with beauty and health. After I worked in a cancer hospital, it was too easy to see people as bodies fraught with inevitable suffering and love as future loss. It took years of living in the present and seeing joy and and beauty to remember that death is a coda, not a negation, of life.

I can't rub sunscreen well on my back, so I asked a random dude on the street if he could help me. He blushed and told me unprompted that he has a girlfriend. I've been eating the cost of deadbeats and flakes for four years now and it's gotten to the point that I'd rather miss honest people than get burned again, which is a shame. But hopefully this will ensure at least four more years of creativity! (if I can stay this slim 😲)

As an unfancy Texan, I've been skeptical about skiing. I thought it was something only rich, white people did to get injured😄 But once I got the hang of it, it was soooooo much fun! It feels like a one man rollercoaster down a fluffy cake. My form far outpaced my confidence, so when my friend tried to put me up a higher mountain, after a bit I freaked out and walked the rest of the way down. 8/10 would try again.

I've always been a chubby kid, and modeling was a way to celebrate my new weight loss. And after my breakdown and I couldn't work anymore, it was a way to financially support myself while I recovered from intense lifetime trauma. Now it's been four years, I've critiqued every inch of myself on camera, stared at the scale, then the glass ceiling, then the slimmer girls who succeed beyond it. This job is not easy for someone who's 5'5" and 135 lbs. I can't muster the same militant diet and lifestyle I had before, but I'm learning to finally see myself not as a bundle of failures who deserves what happened to me, but a sweet, healthy girl who deserves confidence and love. It's a big lesson and just wanted to pass it on 💕

I'm so glad to spend more time with my cousin. We were separated for ten years because of stupid family stuff, but now that we're together, we've been like peas in a pod. I mean, I even turned out to be a model and her a photographer. I hope we'll go on lots of adventures for the rest of our lives.
