Hello, honoured guests! It has been a long wait, and the time for celebration has come upon us. Mohgfest is officially open!
Settle in, have a drink, and perhaps refresh yourself on the rules for submissions — or have a read through, if you’re a newcomer. We’re looking forward to enjoying this week with you and seeing what you're working on, or what you've made! Wips and finished works are both welcome. For a more complete list of what works we accept, please refer to the rules.
As a brief reminder, we do follow Tumblr's content guidelines. Use the community labels according to tumblr rules. Tag for media (fanfic, fanart, craft, playlist, etc), characters, ships (if there are any), and nsfw including nudity, sexual themes, gore, horror, incest, or abuse. If you are submitting works to your own blog and tagging Mohgfest, we will try to review and reblog your post but cannot make promises. Thanks so much, and we hope you'll be celebrating with us this week. Happy creating!
I wanted to ask if I can participate as a ficwriter, but I write only in Russian language?
I plan to write something SFW and not so dark. Anyway you always can use google translate to understand what my work is about. And of course I will use all proper tags on AO3
Thank you in advance! :)
Здравствуйте! Yes, if you’d like to participate in a language besides English that’s fine :D SFW and not so dark content are also welcome. Thank you for your interest, and we’ll look forward to seeing what you write!
Mohgfest is an 18+ fan event for Elden Ring’s Mad Luminary, Mohg. By participating in Mohgfest, you agree that you have read, understood, and will abide by Tumblr’s community content policies. If you are found to be in violation of Tumblr’s community or content policies you will be banned and reported. In addition, you agree that are over 18, that you have read and understand the Mohgfest rules and agree to abide by them, and that you may encounter fictional content you find offensive or distasteful.
Tag your work accurately so that others can choose whether to engage with it, and apply the adult community label where appropriate. Do not deliberately engage with content that you find offensive. Moderators will be reviewing submissions to Mohgfest, but our mods are people and sometimes we make mistakes. If you believe banned or illegal content has been posted to Mohgfest, or a work is inappropriately tagged, or if you have reason to believe someone is deliberately abusing the rules of Mohgfest, please contact the mod team via Tumblr ask.
To participate in Mohgfest, participants must have a Tumblr account. Anonymous submissions are not accepted at this time. Posts can be submitted directly to the Mohgfest blog, or made on your own blog with Mohgfest tagged. If a moderator reviews and posts or reblogs your post, it's accepted! If a post is tagged for Mohgfest but is not featured on the Mohgfest blog as a post or reblog, please assume it has not been checked by a moderator. We cannot guarantee that we will see posts we are tagged in or that they will be reblogged and featured, but we will try.
Mohgfest accepts SFW and NSFW content complying with Tumblr’s content guidelines. In the case of photography, only safe for work content is allowed. All content submitted should be of your own creation: AI generated artwork or fics are not accepted. Fanart, fics, character playlists, and photography of cosplay or crafts are acceptable submissions. If you’re not sure whether something you’d like to submit is allowed, please send the mod team an Ask.
Darker themes are allowed so long as they are appropriately tagged and labelled. Please see “banned content” for details on what Mohgfest does not allow.
If you would like to link to something offsite that is not allowed under Tumblr’s community guidelines, submit a link with appropriate tags and the adult community label applied to the post. Do not link to adult affiliate sites or illegal content; posts found to be violating this rule will be rejected or removed, and reported. See Tumblr’s adult content policy regarding offsite links if further detail is necessary — we’ve copied it for reference at the bottom of this post.
Banned content and behavior:
Mohgfest does not accept any content depicting real life hate groups, even in a fictional context, nor any content condoning, encouraging, or glorifying real-life crimes. If images of abusive material are submitted (images or video of real people, images of real gore, shock images, or similar subject matter), they will be reported to Tumblr and to the proper authorities.
CSAM is not allowed. Photography of children in suggestive or sexual situations will be reported and their submitters banned.
Illustrations or writing of fictional characters are not defined as CSAM under USA law, and will not be considered as such by mods.
If the moderators of Mohgfest find evidence that a participant has been involved in harassment (defined here as implied or explicitly unwanted forms of contact with another user including name-calling, hate mail, directing others to harass a third party, perpetuating blocklists, or similar unacceptable behaviours) within the last two years they may be banned from the event.
Mohgfest complies with Tumblr’s community content policies. Submissions found in violation of Tumblr’s policies will be removed or reported as necessary. Tumblr’s policy on mature content, gore, and harassment as of January 2nd, 2023 has been copied below for reference.
Sexually Explicit Material. Visual depictions of sexually explicit acts (or content with an overt focus on genitalia) are not allowed on Tumblr. That includes pictures, videos, GIFs, drawings, CGI, or anything similar. Historically significant art that you may find in a mainstream museum and which depicts sex acts—such as from India’s Śuṅga Empire—are now allowed on Tumblr with proper labeling.
Nudity and other kinds of adult material are generally welcome. We’re not here to judge your art, we just ask that you add a Community Label to your mature content so that people can choose to filter it out of their Dashboard if they prefer.
You have the option to add a community label when making a new post, reblogging a post, or editing an existing post. Depending on your content, you can label it as generally mature or choose a specific category such as “Sexual Themes” if your post contains sexually suggestive subject matter.
Violent Content and Threats, Gore and Mutilation. Don’t post content which includes violent threats toward individuals or groups - this includes threats of theft, property damage, or financial harm. Don’t post violent content or gore just to be shocking. Don’t showcase the mutilation or torture of human beings, animals (including bestiality), or their remains. Don’t post content that encourages or incites violence, or glorifies acts of violence or the perpetrators.
Harassment. Don’t engage in targeted abuse, bullying, or harassment. Don’t engage in the unwanted sexualization or sexual harassment of others. If someone is sending you unwanted messages, or reblogging your posts in an abusive way, we encourage you to be proactive. Report them, and block the hell out of them. And if someone blocks you, don’t attempt to circumvent the block feature or otherwise try to communicate with them.
Tumblr is a place to express yourself, discover yourself, and bond over the stuff you love. It's where your interests connect you with your
Tumblr’s policy for adult content has been copied below as of January 2nd, 2023 for reference as well. Mohgfest complies by these policies and will not accept submissions that violate them. Violators will be banned and reported.
Tumblr is a home for art and artists. This includes welcoming creators who publish mature content.
While this type of content—including text, images, and videos that contain nudity, offensive language, sexual themes, or mature subject matter—is allowed on Tumblr, we also know it’s not for everyone. So, posts that contain mature content must have a Community Label applied, and it is your responsibility to label your content appropriately.
Followers can adjust their feeds to their own comfort levels, so by applying Community Labels, posters and rebloggers can help their followers avoid anything they’d rather not come across in their dashboards.
If you come across content on Tumblr that doesn’t appear to be appropriately labeled please let us know.
Mature content must also comply with our Community Guidelines, which means visual depictions of sexually explicit acts are not permitted. Additionally, please don’t:
Post links or ads to adult-oriented affiliate networks;
Post links, text, or images promoting or advertising escort or erotic services;
Post images of extreme violence or gore. Posts which relate to world events, and which have associated context or commentary may be ok;
Post content that promotes pedophilia, such as sites with galleries of images of children where the images, content surrounding the images, or the intent of the blog is sexually suggestive.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out and ask. We'll be making an announcement for the mod team soon.
A slight delay before the event: Mohgfest is getting pushed back to the end of February, from the 21-28th. While it was going to be run from the 1st-7th originally, the head mod's cat needs an unexpected surgery, and the surgery date falls within the week of the original event. We do apologise for the delay, and thank you for your understanding!
The rules for Mohgfest are in their third draft and will hopefully be posted this week. Assistant mods have been selected from friends who volunteered their time and expertise, so we will not be looking for outside help with moderation this time. We hope everyone is having a peaceful, uneventful year so far, and we look forward to seeing what you create! Take care, and we hope we'll see you next month~
Hello friends! It's creeping closer to February, and we're terribly excited. Happy new year, and we hope you'll be joining us for Mohgfest next month! We're finalizing the event rules and discussing optional themes for inclusion. If you'd like to submit one for consideration please send it in as an ask to the Mohgfest inbox!
Update regarding moderators: due to some unexpected emergencies and their resultant time constraints for the head mod, mod applications will not be opened. Some friends from other projects have agreed to step in and help instead. Thank you to anyone who considered applying! Unfortunately due to the sensitive nature of the event I am not comfortable bringing in unknown staff without a thorough check that is just not feasible under current conditions.
Final event rules, including instructions for submissions, will ideally go live sometime between January 7th-14th.
