it’s okay for a character to not be confined to a definite label when it comes to romantic orientation or sexuality. sometimes a character doesn’t have to be gay, bi, les, straight, etc representation. sometimes they don’t have to experience romantic attraction at all and don’t need a partner or a love interest. sometimes that’s the point of a character’s arc, and their subsequent acceptance of who they are.

representation across all spectrums is great, and i’m so happy it openly exists in media. but it’s also okay for a character’s identity to be left open. things don’t always need an explicit label. but most importantly, don’t disregard a character’s narrative identity to fit them into your own box.
