molly had always attributed her clumsiness to the fact that when her children were growing up, there were always toys strewed around the house and she was often not paying attention to what was laying around. but she soon quickly realized that as her children grew up and they either didn’t play with toys as often or they got better at cleaning up after themselves that she still managed to trip over her own feet.

she walked out into the backyard after watching them for a few moments, walking to where her kids were playing outside. she was just about to stop next to remus when she tripped over her own feet and grabbed onto him to catch herself.

Marlene chuckled, taking a sip of her firewhiskey. “Aye, I can imagine!” she admitted. Marlene couldn’t quite imagine a scenario like that. Granted, she couldn’t imagine being pregnant, let alone having two buns in the oven. “Happy surprise, I s’pose though. Happy, healthy babes, are the goal ‘n that,” she added. “If you’d met my brother’s y’ would have agreed with her, I reckon,” she admitted. Marlene’s mother adored her children, but there were only so many times you could fish your son out of a pond before you decided enough was enough. Even Marlene could appreciate that. Seeing as she’d helped fish her brother’s out a few times. Depsite being the youngest kid. Marlene shook her head. “No problem at all, s’least I can do. Y’ open your home up t’ us,”

“it was certainly a happy surprise,” she said as she laughed. she was surprised at how easy the pregnancy was with her twins. she had been expecting it to be a lot tougher than it had been, considering there were two of them. their birth, on the other hand, was a different story. “if they’re anything like my boys, i can only imagine,” she said, a smile on her face. she smiled when marlene said it was the least she could do. “so how have you been, honey?”

“Oh, so they take after mommy.” He teased with a chuckle, he knew that kids had their quirks and Molly had fun ones. At least they wouldn’t be boring. “I’ll yell for help if needed. I can find Remus to help me, if you feel the kids would not be a mean with him around.”

molly looked at sirius, a look of complete awe that he had gone there and almost immediately bursted into laughter. was he that far off? she didn’t think so. “they certainly got it from me and not arthur,” she said as she continued to laugh. “really, honey, you don’t have to watch them.”

“Mm, the joys of having so many, I suppose… Plenty of hands to help out.” Narcissa uttered in response as she idly glanced around the auction hall. “Well I won’t take up any more of your time, you’ve obviously got your hands full.”

molly looked down at the newest weasley in her arms, sleep having taken over not long before. “they’re both asleep, you’re fine, love. but if you have things you need to do, don’t feel like you have to stay around for me.”

Sirius chuckled and poured the drink, “So, who is watching the Weasley Wonders today?” He teased her about the small Quidditch Team of a family she had going on with Arthur. It as true that Sirius didn’t think of becoming a parent, but Molly and Arthur seemed the proper people to be one, they loved their kids to bits and care for them with all their might.

“my parents,” she said, laughing at the makeshift weasley quidditch team name. “i’m a little nervous to go back home and see the mess. all of my kids can smell out weakness and exploit it.” she loved her parents, but her kids could be assholes when they paired up together.

Marlene shook her head with a chuckle. “Merlin– right, y’r littlest ones right?” she asked. “Had y’ always planned on a big family?” she asked Molly, looking across to her. “M’ mam drew the line after me. No more babes, Alastair! Otherwise I imagine m’ da’ would have gone for a whole quidditch team and opposin’ side,” she joked. Her accent thickened as she immitated her mother. “Two firewhiskey’s then please, Mikey,” Marlene ordered and handed over a few coins. The perks of working at the place meant that she got staff discount.

“yeah,” she said, a soft smile appearing on her face. five kids, it was wild to her to think she had so quickly jumped from three kids to five. “we definitely wanted four kids, but it was quite a surprise when the healer told us he heard a heartbeat for baby a and baby b. i don’t blame her, though, once you’re out numbered it can get pretty crazy,” she said as she laughed. “thank you again, honey.”

“I imagine that having the two of them, plus your other children, must be quite the handful…” Narcissa replied with a slight smile that she was sure didn’t quite reach her eyes. She would have been lying if said that she had any real interest in the Weasley family, but when events required small talk, it was what you did.

“it can be,” molly said as she nodded her head. “the older boys are so helpful when it comes to these two, though.” there was something about narcissa that told her she wasn’t all too interested in her family. they thought of the world completely different.

“I still can’t believe how many babes y’ve got,” Marlene admitted with a smile. “You’re a bold ‘n brave wom’n, Molly,” she added. Marlene moved from behind the bar, just as her colleague came behind it, handing him the till keys. “Henry’s in the corner, and he’s paid his tab already,” she told him before taking a seat beside Molly. “Well, let me buy y’ your first drink, okay?” Marlene told Molly. “I can keep y’ company until Arthur get’s here,” she offered. 

“Hey, Mikey– can I get a firewhiskey and a–” she paused, looking to Molly.

“you and i both,” molly said as she laughed. “and a set of twins,” she added, a smile on her face. she wouldn’t change it for the world, though, and she was so happy with her ever growing family. “thank you, babe,” she said before turning to the bartender and ordering the same thing. “i suppose i’ll have firewhiskey as well.”

Lucius usually preferred the quietness of his own office or his study in the manor when it came to having a drink. However, if he listened to much more quietness, he was sure that he was going to go insane. He needed something to drown out his thoughts. Usually a firewhiskey did the trick, but this time, it seemed that he needed a bit more than that. It was unusual for him to be seen at a pub at this time of night. Not completely unheard of; Lucius just usually had better things to do with his time. However, if he looked at another stack of documents, he was going to lose his mind. That was why he decided upon the Leaky Cauldron and had settled upon a seat at the bar top. He had a drink in his hand and just listened to the hustle and bustle around him. 

The blonde sneered, though, whenever he felt someone’s presence at his side. How annoying. “Are you going to speak or are you going to sit there and stare all evening? Spit it out.”

molly leaned up against the side of the bar, trying to decide what she wanted to drink. she had agreed to meet arthur after he got off of work, sort of as a date night. as she had gotten there early, in order to ensure they had somewhere to sit, she decided to get a drink while she waited for him. she went for a shot of firewhiskey, just to start the night off before ordering a pint.

hearing someone speak to her, she looked around only to see lucius malfoy. she wasn’t surprised at the tone of his voice, however. “i’m doing the same thing as you, love,” she said as she took the shot quickly.

Marlene finished pulling the pint of beer in her hands, being sure to estimate the right amount of head needed for it. Some people were happy with less of a head; it meant more for your money, but some people ( this person in particular ) was a real stickler for getting the right amount. It was part of the experience. She placed the pint down and took the man’s money, opening the register to get his change. He held a hand up as to stop her as she closed the draw with the intention of giving him is change. “Keep it,” he instructed her.

“Y’ sure, Henry?” she asked. She knew he was.

Marlene dropped it in the tips jar and pulled her apron off. That was her done for the night. She looked across the bar, a small smile capturing her lips. “Well aren’t y’ a sight for sore eyes?” she asked. “I’ve just finished, d’you want to grab a drink?” she asked.

“five kids will do that,” molly said as she laughed. it had been awhile since her and her husband had a night to themselves, so molly agreed to meet her husband somewhere while he got off of work. it was nice to be able to go out with her husband, without her children. “i need one right about now,” she said as she laughed. “my husband won’t get off for another half hour.”

Sirius was pulling a double shift, it had been a quiet week at the order and he needed to keep himself busy. He cleaned the tables and moved behind the bar, cleaning some of the glasses there too. It was a slow night so he did menial things to distract himself from the slow passing hours when someone entered the Green Dragon. “What’s your poison?” he greeted the customer.

it had been awhile since molly and arthur had gone out, let alone gone out without their children. having a pair of newborns wasn’t easy, so they took any chance they could. “firewhiskey,” molly replied to sirius.

Sirius laughed as well and requested a refill for both of them, “I can take care of kids, that’s not the issue. Besides it’s just a couple of minutes while you breath a little. It’s not like these things ever get interesting.”

“just beware, my kids can be assholes sometimes. i think they can sniff out new people and try to take advantage of them. even at two months,” she said, of course joking. but they did seem to have a knack for it.

Frank had been running some errands in Hogsmeade and he’d made a stop at his favorite place, Honeydukes. Who didn’t love candy, after all? After leaving the shop, he headed down the sidewalk when he noticed a very upset little boy and his mother. It didn’t take him long to recognize them or figure out the situation. “Hello, Molly, Bill.” He said, softly. “I hope everything is alright.”

when bill heard a familiar voice, bill turned to the older man and quickly wiped away the tears. he was old enough to not want to be seen crying by anyone. “the curb jumped out on me,” he said, trying to crack a joke. molly softly rubbed the boys back as her son pulled himself together.
