end of month art thoughts (may!)

i didnt get to study as daily as i did in april since i had some real life things to deal with (like moving), and also my computer is still gone, but i think overall i'm pretty happy with the direction things are going....procreate has been pretty fun to draw in and i've still gotten some good study in it but i feel like i'm avoiding learning how to color, lol. but i think i'm making some progress in other areas and i've been doing more of what i like (but i want to do more! aah!)

i'm at a point right now where i'm kind of somewhat happy with the stuff i'm drawing (though i know i have a lot of room to improve, i felt like each drawing is an improvement from the last one so that's nice), but (i dont know if i already said this last month) it means that looking back at the majority of stuff that i've done already, most of it is still pretty bad because i keep progressing away from it, so i have a pretty small body of work that i can be proud of and so i feel like i'm still not worth much overall.

i also tried to combine studying and fun drawing, so i've been drawing ocs a lot more, and i hope that posting those like, once a day or however frequent i've been doing them hasn't been a bother! it just feels so great to draw in procreate and since i'm home with my family i've been drawing while watching movies and stuff which has been nice. i feel less nervous to post wips and sketches which is nice but i hope that it's not like, offputting or anything!! also like numbers dont matter to me at all but every time someone likes or reblogs an oc drawing in particular im like wow what...you dont even know this guy (<- impressed)

i think the main frustration is my god i just want to draw more, i dont know why it takes so much time to get one single thing done. i've been trying to take better care of my health and follow a sleep schedule but that means that even though i basically have unlimited free time this summer, a lot of it is spent making sure my life is in order. even though i felt ive improved and gotten more stable, i still kind of amount to nothing at all, so i need to slowly build up a better portfolio. even the stuff from last month is like....ew what the hell are those lol
