But my great grandma’s information isn’t the important part here. The important part is that line in the middle there about how they arrived in the country.

And how ‘stowaway’ is a legitimate, valid option to select.

my digestive system is measurably fucked up and my feet don't work and i'm hyperflexible and my nose is always stuffy and i sleep 9+ hours a night but am too exhausted to do much of anything that i don't Absolutely Have To Do and i am literally (and i mean literally, doctors have told me this) one hospital visit away from being diagnosed with asthma and also my resting heart rate is weirdly fast and i can never tell when i'm sick because i always feel sick all the time so it could be Just One Of Those Days Again or i coud have a fever of 104.

however i have shit to do right now so all of that is going on the back burner (as it has been for most of my life) BUT! when i start my long and frustrating battle with the healthcare system you'll be fuckign sorry. you'll all be sorry...........

i usually love to make fun of terrible YA books. however. i read the mortal instruments when i was younger and have returned to it again to see what the fuck i was on about. and it's terrible of course but in like a charming way tbh. there's something about the way cassandra clare writes, it's like mid-tier fanfiction diction that makes my brain lock in for a long, calming yet mindless slog. also the gay subplot is just about the most basic shit out there but you know what it kind of slaps to be completely honest

listen percy jackson is something i was into as a child and i don't really care about it these days but the existence of lavinia asimov is like personally offensive to me as a Jewish person and as someone who knows about Jewish history. how could you fumble that bad

i am Once Again thinking about a marvel dc crossover and the culture shock over how each world treats its mutants/metahumans. it would be so funny

as far as i can tell as someone who is not (yet) and x-men reader, x-men is an intentional allegory for civil rights issues; there are definitions, there are different political groups arranged around mutants, it's like a whole class of discrimination that overlaps with other class issues. leftist infighting and all.

in dc comics, metahuman is just a catch all term for anybody who's got some Special Shit going on and isn't an alien, and it sure as fuck isn't an established identity or political bloc. like there might be some comics where that's the case but it's definitely not a major thing. i can think of one metahuman character off the top of my head who's whole deal is about how much it sucks to be a metahuman specifically, that being Killer Croc.

but the concepts of mutants and metahumans are so similar yet handled so differently. and there's just. there's so much potential for misunderstandings if these worlds overlapped
