First Week of Art Fight
For the first time ever, I've decided to participate in Art Fight this year. I'll be posting the first week (well, first 5 days actually) of the attacks I've made.
Starting with my first two attacks for @its-towarzysz, because I wanted to start strong by attacking someone I know (especially since just about all of my other artist friends elected not to participate for a variety of personal reasons). On the left is Royal Prose, a unicorn. On the right is Harmony, which is a pegacorn shadow pony/crystal pony...? Seems complicated, but very cool! I decided to draw her with a pansexual flag just because I felt like adding something a little extra.
Next two attacks are for @girlcraft2003: Melody Sketch, a pegasus, and then I later drew Silver Cherry, a unicorn, as a continuation of a revenge chain between us. These were particularly fun to draw - I struggle a lot with complex designs, but these are simple enough that I don't have to stress myself much to get something good out!
I also decided to start experimenting with simple backgrounds. Still not something I'm good at nor the focus, just something I'm trying.
Next is CottonTail (she/they) for @rainysunsdesign, another cool unicorn I wanted to draw! As mentioned earlier, complex designs aren't my forte, but I tried my best!
Next is Echo; a revenge for TrashDog07! Doing the hair detailing... admittedly kind of broke me, so I didn't really feel very confident with it when I posted it, but everyone I talked to agreed that it was still good! I promised to also post the undetailed version because I liked how it looked too, even if it's not as accurate to the design.
All the other details were actually super fun to draw though, I forgot to mention that!
Last but certainly not least, Jeffery the Unicorn Snail for CranburrySauce! I wanted to close off Saturday with a simple, for-fun drawing, and ended up picking this little guy because I liked his design. And also as practice, because I intend to draw him again as a little cameo in a few future attacks!
The first week of Art Fight started with a lot of stress and anxiety for it, but it ended up being completely worth it - I got a modest amont of really good art of my ponies! And hopefully it'll be more by the end of the event - which I'll have to ensure by drawing plenty of other people's OCs, of course!
I primarily joined Art Fight as a way to fight my art block - by giving me a really, really, really good motivation to draw - the biggest art trading event of the year, which also doesn't require me to know anyone or struggle with social anxiety - (almost) everyone's fair game regardless of if you know them or not!
So far, this has been a resounding success! This is the most art I've drawn in a long, long time, and I've had multiple occasions where I decided to just draw to spend the time - once even while playing Rimworld, funnily enough!
Of course, this isn't the end - only the first week! My plans for the next week is to revenge any attacks that come my way, draw a couple of new attacks, keep my battle ratio high, and get even better at art!
See you soon! P.S.: If any of you post your attacks on tumblr, tag me and I'll be sure to reblog them!
