"Maybe," he laughs in response, taking his cell phone and keys, stuffing them in his pocket before looking at her. "Ye sure yeâll be alrighâ? Take my coat." Picking up Whiskers, he pushes the ball of fur back inside, and the door shuts behind them. His coat draped over his arm, he smiles at her and offers.
Or, he thinks briefly, they could hold hands again.Â
Maybe later, when their hands are a little more full with groceries. Thankfully, the grocery store was close, so it wouldnât take so long. However, that also meant the walk home would be rather short lived. His thoughts swirl, and he looks at Fiona. âI think I have some bread. Iâll make bread puddinâ fer desert.âÂ
"Mfine.", she mumbled into her scarf, forcing her muscles to relax so she wouldn't start shaking. Under normal circumstances, she'd probably have taken him up on the coat offer, but right now even standing close was hard to handle, making her angry. Yet along wearing his coat, constantly having his smell in her nose. The thought alone made her heave another sigh into her scarf and knit her brows. Also..
Bread pudding? She was almost tempted to ask but.. Avoiding to look at him, she strutted down the street, not sure if this was the right direction but judging from where he lived, in the middle of the city, no way could've been the wrong one. Or so she was hoping. Fast paced, fast steps, keeping ahead of him at least one step all the time, that was the plan.Â
Because it was cold.
And because she couldn't trust herself not to yell at him should he even attempt to get into her field of vision right now.
