Vaughn smiled in getting the reaction he did out of his friend, gently kneading into his back. He could tell where he was most sensitive by the sharp noises that Rhys made. He made sure to go softer in certain areas, being careful not to hurt his cyborg friend. ❝I hope you will be. I am not an expert at this, but I at least know a bit to help you out, bro.❞ He let his fingertips run up and down his spine slowly, actually getting a little miffed at the people who played this prank on him. it seemed to be more of an issue than it needed to be. ❝Games? Futures? Well, you know we could get lost in talking about games forever, but what do you mean by futures?❞

Sure, it hurt every now and then, but he knew in the end his joints and knots would melt away. Or so he believed. After a few minutes of constant kneading, Rhys adjusted himself a bit, bringing his hands to the side and flipping himself over. Best to face someone when you’re speaking to them.

The future was meant to be subjective on purpose. It could have meant their future in the company, or maybe just plans for the next day. Or…..

❝You know me—always thinking about plans for the future. Was wondering how it would be like once we’re at the top, y’know? And… if we’ll both make it.❞

Vaughn pulled his hands away as he felt his friend start to move. He watched him roll on his back and Vaughn comfortably rested his elbows on his knees, smiling down at him. The question his best friend asked was heavy and he averted his eyes downwards to truly let the question sink in. He let out a sigh with a quick smile, to change his expression. ❝You'll get there, Rhys.❞ He gave his friend a quick thumbs up. ❝If anything, I know you'll get there. You have the drive to be at the top. And Rhys, Yvette and I will always back you up, you know this. Besides, you have obsessed over Handsome Jack enough to know everything it is to get to the top, haven't you?❞ Vaughn playfully joked, but there was a hint of honesty behind his words.
