thinking about gina cazador tonight. i know the season 6 fuck is a controversial one bc they dedicated 2 in a row to gina but idk i really liked it bc season 6 was all about the consequences of bojack's actions and i think it's really good they addressed how his abuse has effects beyond what he got from the relationship. like u see it with penny too the situation at oberlin is just to alleviate some guilt for bojack but it massively messed her up and with gina she was just there to make him realise he needed to get sober. i think it's something a lot of people who've been abused think as well that if what happened wasn't extremely intentional and targeted it doesn't count but gina's traumatised by something bojack did in a state where he couldn't have done anything remotely calculated and emotionally it makes no difference. idk i really like the way they didn't just use her as a tool for bojack's character development and how she gets labelled difficult and insane for being traumatised and acting out which we know is a fair reaction but to everyone around her is a massive overreaction and how bojack can never think about her because he has a new life and is sober and stuff but she's the one who has to live with his actions. gina deserved better man
