all these people “shocked” to realize they’ve been doing business with predators: L. O. fucking L. sure, pal.

how long before things revert? you think these assholes won’t do business with predators again? the only reason so many people are cutting ties now is because it’s financially expedient to do so.

it’s good that so many of these men are being outed and facing economic consequences, but the only reason that’s happening is because protecting them suddenly became a threat to the holy flow of cash.

meanwhile, for those of us who were not abused by celebrities, literally nothing has changed. we are still overwhelmingly disbelieved, harassed, and stuck in poverty. our non-famous abusers are often still held up, in spite of evidence, as “pillars of the community” or “really great guys,” while we struggle against our PTSD, our borderline, our depression, our anxiety, our psychoses, just to put food on our goddamn tables

i’m not thrilled about the sexual assault stories in the news, i seriously doubt anything will change for the better for victims of rape and assault, nothing will come of this except perhaps even more distrust and suspicion of us, especially women and girls

what i’m seeing is largely symbolic consequences for abusers and a lot of performative outrage by people who realize that supporting abusers at this moment in time will not make them any money. rest assured the moment it becomes profitable again, they will revert to stuffing money into the pockets of rapists and pressing prestigious awards into their hands

and i’m seeing a lot of people, of course primarily men, who take these events to mean that victims have the absolute power to ruin men’s lives, which of course we fucking don’t, but it stokes the predominant MRA narrative that victims are vindictive, opportunistic bitches trying to take revenge on beloved randian heroes by stealing their money and success

and i’m seeing fatigue from people who are nominally sympathetic, and people openly expressing the sociopathic desire to shut up victims in order to preserve their cherished image of the victimizer as a “good guy”

and i have a lot of other thoughts and feelings but i get so upset when i start writing about it and everything else is so stressful rn i feel like my brain is drifting into oncoming traffic

what separatists see: a creative community of lesbians who pursue an alternative and purely voluntary way of living that works for them by centering women and harms literally no one

what non-separatists see: a roving gang of mentally ill, homosexual militants holding guns to innocent women’s heads and force-feeding them nut loaf until they agree to quit their jobs, cut off all contact with the outside world, and live like the amish behind a giant wall made of men’s skulls

so obviously fake and i’m sorry but “mentally ill people are psycho murderers with no personalities” is not a g.d. plot

i have never even seen one of these turds specify a diagnosis. they’ll write from the POV of a doctor and be like, “the person was crazy, but not just regular crazy. he was psycho crazy.” and people will comment?! and be like, “WOW THIS STORY IS SO SCARY, 10/10″??!
