But the more you invite him out with you and talk to him, he slowly begins to speak up more and eventually he opens up to you. He asks you if you wanna go somewhere together, rather then the opposite. When you exclaim, yes, I’d go with you anytime! Hibiya flashes you a rare smile and it makes you so elated to see him smiling.

You tell him you love it when he smiles and you want him to be happy, he sort of looks downwards, goes a bit red in the face and explains he wants you to be there with him. Through everything to come.

Imagine Kano being overwhelmed and consumed by negative feelings caused by lies. He begins to breakdown, hot salty tears pouring from his eyes, hands coming up to tightly clasp around his ears in order to block out the taunting sounds of his mistakes. Kido tries to calm his down but he isn’t really listening, all he can see is her in a blurry vision and he tries to scream at her to go away.

Kido stands her ground firmly, ordering that she isn’t going to leave him. Not when he’s like this. Not ever.

Eventually, Kido’s able to steady him a bit, at least enough for her to wrap her arms around the weakened, frail boy. She holds him in her embrace, feeling his body shake and hearing his sobs, sobs that are slower and more hesitant; more unwilling. Kido feels Kano grasp at the cloth on her back, balling fistfuls of her sweater so she hold him closer to her chest, followed by gentle reminders that she’s here. Here no matter what.
