I’m going to Nepal in 2 weeks. I’d like to take a few little things to give away. One thing I’m thinking of is moon cups. Not only does it save a lot of money but it also removes the stigma of being “unclean” as you can hide the fact you are cycling even from your family; there is no waste. Cups can be used for up to 10years so it’s a great investment and it’s a safer alternative to dirty rags which can cause fatal infections. Today is Vet Nurse day, and the last day of Vet Nurse week. It was also mental health week. Is it a coincidence? When almost nobody in the Vet industry is untouched by mental illness. Imagine; you choose a career you know you will love because you like animals and you want to help them. But once you graduate you find yourself poorly paid while expected to perform miracles (for free or cheap), what’s more the emotional state of the clients you serve is a source of attack on your integrity. They often call you greedy and uncaring. This happens everyday for those that work in the Vet industry. I don’t think I’ve ever met a client that knows what a Vet Nurse or Technician does, or how much they know and care.
