           HE DIDN’T KNOW HER well — in fact, not at all. that didn’t stop him from befriending her though, theirs being a lighthearted and fun friendship without the initial complications that so many of his other connections brought. he hoped they could keep the easy tone between them, a little light in an otherwise grey life. «then you’re not living life to it’s FULLEST,» he protested with a chuckle before retrieving the hoodie with a grateful smile. «thanks. promise i won’t throw it at you again,» added q thoughtfully. «where were you off to ?»

before the boy had dropped his hoodie down at her, before getting up to the roof, the young girl had been desperate to get back home to the warm apartment and her dog. now, it didn’t really matter anymore ― the little climb was probably the reason as to why and the fact that yoora had stumbled upon the boy from the party. his presence felt nice and calming in a way she didn’t exactly knew how to describe, the feeling of PEACE was just there and it would probably be too difficult to explain if anyone asked. “i guess you can say i’m more of the careful type. also, i doubt you would throw your own hoodie down from a roof on purpose,” she replied with a little laughter in her voice before continuing, “home, i was off late from work and well ― here i am. so, why are y o u here ?”

     Whenever jaejin visited the library he always had a book he wanted to read, be it because of an intriguing plot, the positive reviews that made it outstanding in his eyes or even just a nice cover, it would always be under his arm in less than a few minutes. that time, however, he stepped into the place on a whim, out of pure boredom. he liked the sense of familiarity the library gave him, it was quiet and organized, a bit like him, so it wasn’t rare to see him wandering around just to take a look, after the oh so wanted novel was finally in his hands. but that time his BEWILDERMENT must have been obvious, from the way he barely contained a sigh escaping his lips while his hands picked up and put back in place several different books, one after the other; reading summaries and excerpts ( none of them fully catching his attention ) and turning pages after pages until the inked words slowly became just an ensemble of unrecognizable characters.

being surrounded by books was definitely one of yoora’s favorite hobbies in the world, and the library in the city had almost become her third home if one put the flower shop aside. wherever the eye went, there were books of all s i z e s ― thick and heavy ones, old and new editions, classics and paperbacks to name a couple. the categories ranged from non-fiction to dictionaries with many copies about the same topic, so there was something for everyone and no one could ever get bored when they were in the library. well, almost ― she could see a boy walk around the shelves pushing several books out and then back in to place. it was almost like he was searching for anything interesting, but didn’t seem to find whatever he wanted to read. with a novel in her hand, she approached him with a small smile and a hint of CURIOSITY, wondering if she was right about what she saw. “can’t seem to find anything you like ?”

          IT WAS A BRAVE move on her behalf, he could recognize that. the ladder didn’t look able to hold much more than a bird, and yet she had boldly climbed it as if it didn’t matter — q respected that, as well as feeling a tinge of worry spread in his chest. hypocritical, he knew, but maybe it was his flaw after all. he VALUED other’s lives more than he could value his own — his, with an expiration date. «you’re a tough one, aren’t you ?» he chuckled as he helped pull her up on the surface of the rooftop. 

relieved that she’d made it up all the way from the ground, she took a deep breath before she let it out again into the air. it wasn’t freezing cold outside, but not hot either ― something in between, much like the weather after a change in the seasons. not that she could really get a good grasp of the temperature anyway, all yoora knew was that the little climb had taken a little TOLL on her body and exhausted her a bit. after getting her breath back, she turned around to q and shrugged a bit. “it’s not like i get to climb the fire escape every day, so i have to take the chance when i get it.” a little smile appeared on her lips and she stared at him for a second before remembering why she was with him. “i thought you’d like to get this back,” she said and handed him his hoodie.
