I saw an hc from way back then that said Shady/C4L4M4R goes to college and I thought itd be so funny if nobody else knew
android Binah allows birds to perch on her fingers. shoulders, arms, head. still as a statue. watching the sparrows and finches hop about, pecking at her weary hands, clean and free of any rust. your work. hours of meticulous labor, polishing the tarnish from her broken frame. wiping away every hint of corrosion. all so she could stand and walk without pain. baffling. the things you did just so she, a discarded machine, was comfortable. repairing her body. stitching the rips in her clothes. giving her a name. Binah. Binah. she tests it on her tongue, circuits clumsy and quiet. it sounds better in your voice and the chirps of birdsong. almost everything does- especially laughter, the smile you hide behind a hand.
she hasn't mastered it yet. joy. delight. yet your eyes shine whenever that raspy static slips from her throat. clapping your hands, giggling along with her. Binah stares at the birds clinging to her knuckles. silently listening to their tiny cheeps. the same melody you hum and whistle. guiding her steps, soothing the pain of each sparking wire and malfunction. she turns, slowly. making her way through your workshop, gaze locked on a particularly stubborn thrush. you're at your desk, as usual. hunched over a few bits and bobs, fingertips rough to the touch. Binah extends her free hand, carefully touching your cheek. cradling your face as you glance up, tilting your head curiously.
"Look." she gestures to the bird. "It is you."
you blink several times, before dissolving into that sweet, wonderful laughter, and Binah's eyes flicker with gold. pleased. a ruined thing, amused, the twitch of a smile tugging at her mouth.
her systems curl around the lovely noise, and categorize it as Highest Priority.
taking care of flowers with binah.. i think she'd take a liking to sunflowers, i tend to associate her with that a lot
it was your idea. yours, and that single seed in your pocket. it stayed with you, through the corporation. through the Light, into the arching branches of the Library. a stubborn thing. small, flat. cradled in your hand like a shining jewel. the facility was cold. dark. crushing your dreams of starting a garden, withered to nothing but dust. the Floor of Philosophy is filled with light. the glowing rays of the sun, perfect for budding leaves and blossoms. Binah clears a space near one of the windows. helping you arrange pots and planters, burying the seed in fresh soil. an Arbiter with dirt beneath her nails. she laughs at the thought, thumbing over your knuckles. it leaves a smudge on your skin. a tangible claim, tying a bow in your joined threads. she smirks, faintly. smearing a touch more soil against your hand- if only to hear you laugh.
you tend to the shoots in your spare time. coaxing new growth, ensuring each root is healthy. slowly, slowly, green gives way to a rainbow. deep violet; golden crowns; blues and pinks, shades of the dawning sky. Binah sits in her usual chair. wreathed by sunflowers, taller than the shelves and twice as vibrant. watching you fuss over the petals and pollen with a slight, tender smile. how long she has waited to see your eyes shine. that flicker of spirit finally blooming under the light. she rises to her feet, approaching your side. reaching out and carefully flicking a stray leaf from your hair, trailing her fingertips down your face until she reaches your lips.
"A lovely flower," Binah whispers, laced with teasing warmth.
she's not talking about the plants.

Got the splat3 artbook. My SHAYLAS. MY PRECIOUS
Queequeg takes you to see the stars. slipping outside in the dead of night, sitting on the very edge of the docks. quiet. serene. waves lap gently against the pier. grazing the wood, leaving barnacles and reeds in their wake. sweet as your hand against her arms. tracing those faded tattoos as if they were something precious. something delicate. constellations of ink and scar tissue, mapping a brutal, storied life. you always compared her to the stars. leaning your head against her shoulder, fashioning a string of beads and bits of shell. so many patterns, twinkling overhead. all with their own numerous tales. neither of you could keep up. they changed each year. month. week. traveling from dock to dock by whispered words, fleeting glimpses of the world you both left behind.
you made up your own stories, together. your own constellations, drawing each beast and blossom with your fingertip. countless sea creatures swimming above. eels, rays, jellyfish. Queequeg suggested a seahorse. a little cluster of stars off to the right. that smile on your face, the brilliance reflecting off your eyes- she worked her ruined tongue, pronouncing each marine animal she knew, watching you scribble in that worn old journal of yours. when this was over, you promised. you'd go see the stars together again. somewhere without worry, without a captain barking out orders every moment and a froth of white on the horizon. Queequeg nodded, curling her pinkie finger around yours in a solemn oath. the first not fouled by oil and rot.
her hand rests over her wrist, staring up at that glimmering sky. the same one you mapped out, giving each flicker of light its own name. the same one you'd cherished so deeply. asking if you could live somewhere far away from the City's artificial brightness. with her. always with her.
the beaded bracelet on her arm is smooth, worn down from months of grief. the shells as pale as the maw of the monster she lost you to, that horrible, vivid day.
Queequeg hooks her little fingers together with a shaky smile, tears welling in her eyes. she still knows where the oarfish is. the first constellation you ever made.
"...Kept my promise."
Saw a screenshot that felt a lot like Yarrwhal and Hiro to me IWJZJS
"Hold still, you fool."
Outis scowls, fingers curled around your wrist. dabbing at the skin, the cuts dotted across your hands. countless wounds. small yet deep. punctures you never allow Dante to heal. it's a waste of time. unnecessary pain for the Manager. yet she cannot let you walk around with festering blood. yanking you into a seat, medical supplies already spread out beside her.
"I told you to be more careful."
cotton swabs dab the gashes. stinging, alcohol seeping into your veins, sterile and sharp. Outis neatly swipes over each cut. firm, certain. gentle. as if you were fine, sturdy porcelain and she a dollmaker, mending the accumulated cracks on a precious form. gauze pressed to each fingertip, wrapping your arms in warmth.
she's shaking. idly tracing the bandages and refusing to meet your eyes. hesitating. Outis- stern, commanding Outis, back straight and shoulders set- shifts. grip tightening briefly before she suddenly leans down, lightly pecking your knuckles. cheeks warming, huffing out a sigh and glancing away.
"...Don't do it again."
a murmur of exhausted yearning beneath her stubborn facade. the searing alcohol overtaken by sweet mint and the scent of ash, always lingering at your side.
It was never real, was it?
When Kayoss figured out that Hiro felt a certain way about him, he decided to play along. No, he felt nothing of the sort towards Hiro -- besides sheer entertainment, anyway.
He did this to see if the boy would fight harder for him. Bare his fangs and do what he was told.
He absolutely did.
