I think probably the best feeling is sharing music and art n books and having someone else appreciate it. It’s not so much The Fact that someone else is validating your taste as it is that ur like.. Sharing something u love and someone else is slowly falling in love w it too. Something very satisfying about that

CAN WE PLEASE AGREE THAT THESE COVERS ARE AMAZING
I am still here, Vasya told herself, over and over. I am still myself. I am still alive.
I had a dream that I was a Victorian-era archaeologist in Egypt acting as a consultant to the colonial governor or whatever who lived there, and I hated my job. My boss decided his wife was unfaithful or otherwise criminal and put her on trial, and asked me for advice on how to have her executed.
I suggested locking her in a particular tomb so that “the mummy’s curse can get her” and she was heartbroken by my betrayal and cruelty... but when she was actually locked in the tomb, I was there waiting for her, and admitted that I’d made up the mummy’s curse and exaggerated the dangers of the tomb because it was the only one with an accessible back door. We escaped and rode off into the sunset together to leave Egypt and be gay somewhere we wouldn’t be recognized.
I’d read the fuck outta this book honestly. It’s like the 1999 Mummy but gay
The dream was vague about my history with the woman, but if it were a book, the archaeologist would be a woman who had disguised herself as a man to find work in her field, but revealed herself to the wife after an accident and struck up a friendship with her that eventually grew into something more. The husband would find out about this Unknown Interloping Woman corrupting his wife (letters, perhaps?) and would turn to the non-threatening, seemingly sexless archaeologist fellow to complain to about his unfaithful wife.

Cardan and Jude from The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
triptych / statues on blenheim palace
Everyone who is into dark academia now used to either have obsession with Greek mythology, were really into poetry and philosophy, tried to be motivated for school, loved history or considered themselves either ravenclaw or a Slytherin.
