Damn. Son…
Tumblr’s “flag police” is out of control.
So in addition to the ridiculous, censorship-driven, complete bullshit policythat Tumblr is moving forward with on 17 December, in reviewing my timeline today they’re clearly going further than just standard “adult content” banning.
They are flagging pictures of shirtless men. Shirtless men!
UPDATE: They’ve just gone and flagged my original post of this rant as it had photos of 4 examples of this flagrant censorship.
These could all easily be posted on Instagram with no issue but here they’re apparently all “flagged for review”, which I assume means they’ll be removed and/or hidden when the policy goes into effect.
Absolute BULLSHIT.
I have always turned to Tumblr to get away from the typical social media fodder. It’s always been a place of free expression and community. A place to embrace sensuality and beauty of the human form.
What a complete disgrace and so fucking sad!
Anyone know of a suitable alternative? If not, perhaps someone should make one.
Fuck. 😡
This is so fuckin funny

THE PRINCE ESTATE, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WARNER BROS. RECORDS, ANNOUNCES NEW PIANO & A MICROPHONE 1983 ALBUM ON PRINCE’S 60TH BIRTHDAY
ALBUM FEATURES PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED 1983 RECORDING OF PRINCE AT THE PIANO CAPTURED AT HIS HOME STUDIO IN MINNESOTA
ALBUM TO BE RELEASED ON SEPTEMBER 21, 2018
Today the Prince Estate, in partnership with Warner Bros. Records, announced the release of the Piano & A Microphone 1983 album on what would have been Prince’s 60th birthday. The nine track, 35-minute album features a previously unreleased home studio cassette recording of Prince at his piano captured in 1983. The album is available now to pre-order on CD, LP, Deluxe CD+LP, digital release and pre-save for streaming.
“This raw, intimate recording, which took place at the start of Prince’s career right before he achieved international stardom, is similar in format to the Piano & A Microphone Tour that he ended his career with in 2016,” said Prince Estate entertainment adviser Troy Carter. “The Estate is excited to be able to give fans a glimpse of his evolution and show how his career ultimately came full circle with just him and his piano.”
The private rehearsal provides a rare, intimate glimpse into Prince’s creative process as he worked through songs which include “17 Days” and “Purple Rain” (neither of which would be released until 1984), a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case Of You”, “Strange Relationship” (not released until 1987 on his critically acclaimed Sign O’ The Times album), and “International Lover”. The album also includes a rare recording of the 19th Century spiritual “Mary Don’t You Weep” which will be featured during the end credits of Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman in theaters August 2018. For fans of Prince’s spontaneous live medleys, tracks 1-7 of the album are presented in that same format as they were originally recorded.
Track listing and credits:
1. 17 Days
2. Purple Rain
3. A Case Of You
4. Mary Don’t You Weep
5. Strange Relationship
6. International Lover
7. Wednesday
8. Cold Coffee & Cocaine
9. Why The Butterflies
Recorded in 1983 at Prince’s Kiowa Trail home studio in Chanhassen, MN
Engineered by Don Batts
The album cover photo captures a rare view of Prince backstage during the 1999 tour. The photo was taken by Prince’s trusted photographer and creative collaborator Allen Beaulieu who worked closely with Prince between 1979-1984. Allen’s work with Prince includes the cover shots for the Dirty Mind and Controversy albums and iconic promotional photos for the 1999 album.
The Deluxe CD+LP format will include a 12” booklet featuring brand new liner notes written by Prince’s then engineer Don Batts, as well as candid shots of Prince including never before seen images. Fans who pre-order the album via digital download will immediately receive an Instant Grat download of “Mary Don’t You Weep”.
Reflecting on what would have been Prince’s 60th birthday, fans are invited to visit the interactive Prince2Me website to express what Prince means to them. The Prince Estate’s Annotated Discography website also provides a rich platform for fans old and new to immerse themselves in the inimitable creative genius of Prince.
The Prince Estate serves to present Prince’s life and work, and celebrate his ground-breaking cultural impact. Stay tuned for upcoming exclusive announcements from the Estate by visiting: princeestate.com and by following the official Prince account on Facebook.

Surprised no one has picked this up on World AIDS Day, but today is the 20th Anniversary of the World AIDS Day anthem, Janet Jackson's Together Again. Released technically on December 2nd, 1997, the day after, it reached #1 on both pop and dance charts. "Together Again" was written as a tribute from Jackson to a friend who had recently died from AIDS as well as AIDS victims and their families worldwide. Jackson was reportedly inspired to write the song from her own personal experience, as well as a piece of fan-mail she received from a young boy in England who had lost his father. According to Jimmy Jam, "it had a deep meaning for her because it was about a friend she lost to AIDS, but as with all her songs, she tries to make them apply in a general sense to anybody. The idea was to make it a joyous song musically".
