Still my favorite story from the Lord of the Rings set: Viggo Mortensen bonded so much with the horse he rode in the movies that after filming was over he bought it from its owner. If that doesn’t warm your heart I don’t know what could.

Also most of the Riders of Rohan are actually women because when they put out that call mostly women showed up with their horses and the costume team just stuck beards on them.

i had a friend whose mom rode with viggo mortensen in denmark back in the day!

its literally uncanny how brian kinney is probably a gemini with an earth moon or fire moon and justin taylor a sagittarius. that makes so much sense. the dynamics is literally the same as me (sag) and... "my" gemini. not that he has a kid or anything, and he definitely didnt take my virginity, but the antics... i am literally living qaf. our stories pretty much align, the constant push and pull, the never being able to get over each other no matter how much you try... the ~deep true love~ but the communicative incompatibilities. literally fell for him the first time we slept together and his feelings grew stronger and stronger but hes so inaccessible... you glimpse some, then its gone. if someone told me this back in 2007 when i started watching this stupid lovable show that my lovelife would pan out like theirs... i wouldnt have believed it.

man why are the hobbit movies so bad? like sure, an unexpected journey is "decent" because when you havent seen the other two yet its still forgivable and KIND OF has an air to it of lotr and the original lore

but everything about the desolation of smaug, from the downright silly add-on stories (legolas??? tauriel??? dwarf/elf love story? wtf?) to the T E R R I B L E cgi - i mean?? its a shame to weta workshop?? how can the production stand for that utter shit? - and the comic relief that no one asked for, all the way to that song in the credits that should never have been allowed in a tolkien franchise

its a cringe from start to finish
