"...why does he even have access to something like those?"
No, I am not explaining the birb. Yes, it actually looks like that, the icon isn't just a funny photo being used as a rough representation. No, the birb is not a crack muse, it just is. Yes, it exists principally because I saw that photo, adored it, and randomly wound up just turning it into a recurring gag.
chirp
"Manager. How long is it going to be out for."
Deep breaths. Deeeeeep breaths. Do not let that damn bird win.
Chirp. This is not, I think, the bird Eric was expecting.
And yet it still, strangely, has the same ominous presence.
7. What is their best pickup line?, for Yuki
"I have never used a pickup line once in my life." Surprisingly not a lie. "Though my brain has come up with some stupid jokes about 'squishing that cat'. Which I hate."
What is their best pickup line? c'mon henix spill the beans
"...Can I volunteer to not answer this question?" No.
"...'cause my pickup lines historically suck ass. It is kind of a miracle I'm married." I mean, given your nerdy archetype, that about tracks. "The 'best' I think I've done was, uh... something about cat treats, I think? And it made Corona laugh more than anything."
For context, Corona, Henix's wife, is a cat.
Questions About Your Muse
What is their idea of perfect happiness?
What is the trait they most deplore in themselves?
When and where were they happiest?
Are they an organ donor? Why or why not?
Have they ever eaten an entire tube of Pringles by themselves?
Who taught them how to drive?
What is their best pickup line?
What is their opinion on rats as pets?
How many hats do they own?
Does the sight of blood make them queasy?
"...Hmm." Don't you dare weigh in on current subjects and make me have to finally actually invent some Rutanian video game history.
"I was always a desktop kid, but if we're talking about old consoles, the Aurobase is one of my favorites... if in no small part because bringing it up always annoys Henix. I think he's still mad that they actually got away with the excuse of the 'Auro' in the name being short for 'Aurora' and not 'Aurorus' in a court of law." God dammit.
I really need to do more things here, and I've wanted to, just. Busy. Also part of that involves, frankly, throwing Yuki at someone, given for all intents and purposes she's the main character here.
Technically speaking, I did kind of write myself into a mild corner with the whole thing of, oh yeah, technically Yuki is kind of on parole, and thus in theory just throwing her at characters in different worlds shouldn't be on the table, but shockingly that's not actually something I'd expect to stop me. Especially because I have the easy excuse of "she's literally working with Henix on a device whose entire function is to bridge space using the Void".
I do actually have some thoughts about the who and what on this front- a certain drillgirl in particular is actually near the top of my list- it's just a matter of finding time and, well.
Talking to people. A thing I still suck at to this day.
On this odd hour of the day, shortly before midnight, we have a half-star, in what appears to be her own lab, rather than the one seen here. In particular, she seems to be working on an odd, somewhat torus-shaped (that's donut-shaped) device covered in odd circuitry, just laying on a table. It's very obviously a prototype, given its extreme bend towards function over literally anything else.
In this moment, Yuki is in the process of loading a couple glass vials of what, frankly, appears to be blood, into ports on the top of the device; for what purpose exactly is currently unclear.
Once done, she flips a switch on a separate device it's wired to- a power supply, by the looks of it- and the vials now drain into the toroidal portion of the device. Parts of it light up briefly, seeming to almost "putter" in the same way an engine struggling to turn over might, before dying out completely after a few seconds.
"...Hmm. Well, we have a reaction, but it's not maintaining. Not enough fuel, maybe? So either it needs more to get started... or, the blood wasn't fresh enough. It was drawn a week ago." You are raising a lot of questions, right now.
"Well, that second one's quicker to test, so..."
[CUE ADAM WEST BATMAN TRANSITION]
About 45 minutes later, Yuki has now produced a new set of vials containing much, much fresher blood, and now has a gauze pad applied to the inside of her left elbow. She's also cleaned out the device for hopefully-obvious reasons, and is now loading the new vials into it.
Once again, a flick of a switch, and the vials drain... but instead of a puttering light, the device fires up promptly, emitting brilliant, multicolored light. A miniaturized, star-powered fusion reactor.
For her part, Yuki seems very pleased to see this. "That's an unambiguous success, then! I can't safely extract stellar plasma from my chest, but I can extract the means to make it- and a sustained fusion reaction- from my plasma." ...would you believe me if I told you I hadn't thought of that pun until I was writing this specific line of dialogue? Because I hadn't thought of that pun until I was writing this specific line of dialogue.
"...that said, the question now remains of how long about 100mL of blood can sustain a reaction." And how much it'll take to extract the kind of power you need for whatever the hell you plan on doing with this tech.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this one adds up to no distinct answer, and no, "quack" doesn't count, one of those votes was me. Probably this was mostly because I did absolutely nothing to elaborate on what the fuck I meant by "something really cursed".
I think most people around here can probably guess that I've been around a while; I specifically call out @dorkindustri as my previous work in the promos, but its immediate predecessor @neptunian-archives is worth mentioning, even if most of its writing is very old. Even older are @ahintofinsanity, a very old Flandre Scarlet I would not particularly endorse, and @thequeenofstorms, a very old Eve (from Elsword) I would also not particularly endorse.
I've kind of crossed the event horizon of... not really being ashamed of my old writing anymore. In part because the person I've been at times is more worth being ashamed of, but mostly because it's never been productive to be ashamed of a past version of yourself who didn't know better. Though, that said, I'd be remiss not to call out a particular incident on that Flan blog where I got very, very pissy about what I viewed as a poorly-written, bullshit-overpowered merged-timeline Link, which, uh. Is a pattern of behavior I'm not proud of myself for repeating on dorkindustri! Sorry, Maru.
But I'm not here for a pity party, that was all just preamble for the actual thing I'm here to talk about. Or rather show. Because, uh, that's not the earliest surviving example of my writing. There might be a couple examples of very early fanfiction of mine still floating around on FF.net, but about a week ago I discovered a funny little file on my Dropbox called "OldFanficSht.docx".
When I said "really cursed", I was not kidding, because this is a Word document from, like, 2007, detailing all of my ideas for an extremely ambitious, extremely crude series of Touhou fanfics I was planning to write that NEVER HAPPENED! Outside of like two chapters of the incredibly-unpleasantly-named "Coming of High Danger". If you can make heads or tails of ANYTHING inside this mess of text, congrats!
I've obviously scrubbed it of my real (dead)name, because I was like 10 or 11 when I wrote most of this shit, did not ever intend to publish it, and it really hadn't sunk it yet that using my real name for things on the internet was, y'know, a bad idea. Fun fact, his name has been scrubbed by direct proxy, but I originally made a hedgehog-echidna-fox hybrid with three tails as a Sonic OC. And named him after myself. I was 8, I'm allowed that. But also fucking hell.
Why share this, you may ask? Well, I'm glad you asked!
Anyway, I have a mess to clean up. Have fun!
...You know, in hindsight, I should've thought about the fact that the link would show the name I have on my Dropbox profile before doing this.
Please hold while I see if I can fix that.
And fixed. Thank you, me, for not thinking of that beforehand.

⛔️ - How does your muse react to others breaking the law? If they would do it themselves, what is their reasoning?
For Ame Sakura
It bears noting that- at least at present- I don't really currently consider Ame a valid target for memes for an assortment of reasons I won't be getting into. (In part to do with the fact that she isn't exactly a stable presence yet.) That said: I should've specified that, so this one's on me, and to be fair something interesting can be said about this subject anyway.
Over here (mobile) Ame goes a bit into what Astrus is, but one thing to elaborate on relevant to this subject is that Astrus, as a collective... isn't quite a hive mind, but it there is a mild overriding element to their collective consciousness. Generally, everyone within this collective is bound by their collective principles; said principles can change, but Astrus themselves can't really go against them directly.
The Nova, meanwhile, are individuals from that collective whose physical bodies (IE literal actual stars) went supernova and merged with their consciousnesses, thus binding them to the material, pulling them out of the collective and making them independent beings. Consequently, Nova are kind of definitionally loose cannons, given while a connection is maintained with Astrus, they are not bound to Astrus anymore, and are free to act against what would, otherwise, have been considered "laws" to their former selves.
All this preamble is to say that Nova, Ame included, extremely trend towards the end of the spectrum of "disregarding laws when they get in the way of doing the right thing". Consequently, well, Ame historically doesn't actually really care all that much about people breaking the law so long as they aren't bringing harm to others unnecessarily by doing so. She also historically has no qualms with ignoring the law if she feels the alternative is worse.
You may, however, notice some pointed uses of the word "historically" here. Ame of the present seems a little... erratic.

...I have no idea what's going on, but it did remind me to put some blocks in place I should've to begin with.
I haven't brought this up before, but a keen observer might've noticed a conspicuous lack of a rules page on my most recent blogs, so this one and @immortalsorcery. Partly I couldn't be assed, partly it'd be much of the same shit pretty much everyone else has on theirs and thus should be mostly self-explanatory, mostly if something goes wrong I'm just going to either hash it out or hit the block button. I'm kind of well past the point of considering blocking some nuclear-grade punishment and into "it's a tool to remove you from my view, if you have a problem with that it ain't my problem".
No, I will not be specifying who got the privilege of being pre-emptively treated to blocks, or how many people did, but rest assured that these were individuals I already had pre-existing reasons to not want to interact with at all due to prior interactions. The only reason I'm even bringing it up right now is because I get the impression it's somewhat topical.
Anyway Discord information. Bears noting that my settings do NOT allow DMs from anyone I'm not either friends with or don't share a server with already (and I am EXTREMELY stringent on what servers I give permission for people to DM me from), so if you want to establish a line there you're gonna have to send a friend request first.
