He had a face at some point in this drawing. I colored it badly. I colored it all badly. The metallic markers are there to distract you from how bad it is.

But I saved it in the end, that’s all that matters!

Intern Dana’s Odd Text Messages

VII - THE CHARIOT: HIRAM MCDANIELS

"A symbol of war, victory, conquest, self-assertion and command. The image of mastering, controlling, and leading two opposing forces is prevalent.”

Picking the rather dynamic Hiram McDaniels for this card was an easy choice, even before the first episode in which we heard his voice and motives.  He’s canonically described as having intensity and raw power, fitting for The Chariot. Funnily enough, Hiram also somewhat fits the Reverse Chariot as well; Cecil proclaims that it is racist to assume that Hiram would have differing opinions because of his many heads and thus would be unfit in political positions, but from what we’ve heard of him, his different heads are rather… capricious.

This was the first card of the series that I did lineart for, and boy does it show.  The lineart was incredibly thin and needed adjustment, and you can see the damning marks of copy and pasting.  I noticed that a lot of my cards were very dark, so I decided to brighten things up a bit with this card.  Choosing a color palette was somewhat difficult as well, so eventually I threw my hands up and went, “To Hell with it!  Let’s make him a rainbow nightmare!”  By that extension, I plan to make the card with the Faceless Old Woman completely monochrome as a nice contrast.
