It’s that time of the year where anyone who loves fashion is glued to their phones looking at updates from NYFW. I’ve only been watching select shows of designers I like, but overall I’ve noticed a few trends that I am in love with; pastels and florals for fall. I haven’t been physically watching the shows as I have in previous years, but I have been looking on Vogue in the stills from the shows and presentations.
Here are some of my favorite looks (so far) from NYFW.
Jeremy Scott
I love the look of large fishnets, which I know is really big for Spring 2017 (and yes, that wasn’t a typo). I love the subtle details of these looks, such as the pom poms at the bottom of the jacket in the right image to the beading of the butterflies on the garment on the left.
La Perla
Julia Haart, the designer for La Perla, was inspired by British gardens for her collection. I love the tartan print along with the applique roses. I always have had a soft spot for British influences in fashion, and this is no exception.
Red Valentino
Valentino is in my top 3 for Haute Couture designers, and I usually don’t pay much attention to their secondary line, Red Valentino. This is nuts, since I would be more likely to afford a Red Valentino dress than a Valentino Couture gown (both are still crazy expensive for my taste). In the first outfit (right side), I love all the feminine details from the flowers on the sweater, to the lace on the skirt. I also love the addition of the bow to accentuate the waist.
I have always been a big fan of quirky additions to garments (Which is why I always love the pieces from Schiaparelli and Kate Spade). I loved the details of the dress on the right originally, but the fact that it was paired with a handbag with a snake applique made me love this whole look even more.
Alejandra Alonso Rojas
I always have loved the 1950’s from a fashion standpoint, since it’s the era that incorporated the new look by Christian Dior. Both of these looks contain subtle details that remind me of this period in time, especially the length of the coat and skirt. I also am a huge fan of the gloves and faux fur collars.
Kate Spade
I love everything about this look. I am obsessed with velvet material and here the ankle boots hit on the calf. I also love the mix of the edgy and feminine details with the leather bomber jacket with floral applique.
I’m really excited of the looks coming out of NYFW this year. I can’t wait to see the next few days of shows to see what they bring!

Fort Langley, BC
My sister and I went to Fort Langley and visited some of my favorite stores!
When I was younger, I used to travel over the Albion Ferry with my school and visit the Fort Langley Historical Site. Since they ferry closed in 2009, there hasn’t been a reason for me to visit Fort Langley. Within the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to film in a few of the shops there. This made me want to come back here to visit on my own time.

Though it is currently snowing in Vancouver (Help me!) All I can do is think of warm(er) weather and shorter hemlines.
I always create Pinterest boards with inspiring images of what I want to add to my wardrobe that season. I currently have about 80 pins to my Spring 2017 || board, and I`m always adding pictures and links to it.
Overall, the trend this spring is mixing feminine features with harsh, edgy features is a favorite of mine this season. I also love the idea of mixing one statement piece with casual, more laid back pieces.
Here are a few Spring RTW 2017 looks that have inspired me for my spring shopping:
Alexander McQueen
I love how the embroidery on this jacket adds a feminine spark to the typical leather jacket
Christian Dior
I`m a huge fan of how both of these looks take a feminine tulle skirt and add a casual element to downplay the look.
Diane Von Furstenberg
I always love a lightweight maxi dress! This dress would work for both spring and summer, and I’ve always been a huge fan of Diane’s wrap dresses.
Dolce + Gabbana
I think this skirt would look really cute with a white t shirt and a pair of white converse high tops.
Kate Spade
I love the colours in this jacket! I would pair this with ripped jeans, v neck t shirt, and a straw hat.
Marques ‘ Almeida
Again, mixing feminine and edgy together! Imagine this with a leather jacket and booties.
Saint Laurent
This is another example of making an outfit super casual. Adding the boyfriend jeans to this look makes it able to be worn for a casual daytime ensemble.
I also added this Saint Laurent piece to my inspiration because I love the wrap front and self belt look for this spring.
Tory Burch
I have also always loved the look of matching separates, and would love to incorporate it at least once this spring.
Zac Posen
As an add on for the whole idea of separates!
Valentino
I have recently been embracing the deep V in my wardrobe, and there’s no way I’m going back! I wouldn’t buy a large quantity of deep V neck items, but I do want to incorporate more into my wardrobe for spring. I also have been more interested in wrap around style of shoe enclosure.

Maple Ridge, B.C.
An ever-expanding city 45 minutes east of Vancouver, there is not much to do other than go to an old bowling alley, eat at one of the many Japanese restaurants, and be held up by construction on every other street (no exaggeration here).
