Quiet Light || Sybill & Andy

Practically Sybill’s entire social life was founded through work- not even necessarily her own. Through the years of meeting Caradoc at work it had become unavoidable to interact with other members of staff, especially those who were particularly fond of him like Andromeda. She wasn’t really an excellent small talker, but it helped that Andy’sown beau Ted worked at the Ministry too, because that gave them a common link through which there were things to discuss.
She’d popped over to St Mungos today after having finished work a little early, to see if Cardi had the same fortune- which of course he did not, because so rarely did the universe align itself so nicely even for someone who it put through so much. Still she smiled at the sight of Andy in the hallway, laughing lightly at her question. “I’m good, things have been a little busy- apparently even if you are planning a small casual wedding it will take up far too much of your time. But of course, would you expect anything less of him? Somehow on evenings when he’s working late unexpectedly there are always leftovers in the fridge. And you? How are things?”
After leaving her family name behind, Andromeda had lost the majority of her network, and then gained an entirely new support system of friends and family. She had made some close friends in Hogwarts, despite her family’s reputation, but many of them came after she and Ted started dating. Caradoc had been one of the few people that she’d made friends with first. Working together had made their friendship grow and Andromeda knew how important Sybill was to him. The amount of care Andromeda held always seemed to extent to the people around her.
Smiling, she gave an approving nod as she answered, “I’m glad to hear you’ve been well. Wedding planning is exhaustive no matter how small it is. Honestly, I think Ted and I were contemplating just getting eloped during the process” she joked, before continuing with a soft smile, “Of course not. He’s a good egg, that one, and anyone with eyes knows he’s an absolute dote about you.” Giving a mild shrug she answered, “Overall, I’m doing quite well. Nymphadora becomes more of a handful every day, but I’ll never complain because she’s an amazing kid; insane curiosity and all. Ted’s wonderful, as always. We recently got a dog, so that’s certainly been exciting.” Tilting her head in thought, she continued, “Outside of our little world, things aren’t as great, but you know that. We hold onto the little joy we’ve made”.
