Here is the Skaven Grimoire I made as the prize for the Umgak Costume Contest over on the Vermintide subreddit!

"IRL", I actually work in library conservation, so I take care of/fix old books and bind my own from time to time. So when Exanta approached me about making a prize for the contest, I said, heck yeah! The text block is bound from scratch using different cold-pressed artist papers, some are super textured and have plant fibers pressed into them making them look sort of "hairy" (gross). For the cover I pretty much made a standard case binding and then decorated it with foam, paint, and embellishments. 

I recorded the whole process, I intend to make a video all about it, so you can find me on youtube and keep an eye out for it. You can find a tutorial on my kerillian cosplay there too.

Some wholesome vermintide content in this trying time... Inspired by kerillian's very cute premium cosmetic- that bun hair style actually is one you can hold up with nothing but a stick and it stays super well (practical character design? In my video games?). But, it always comes out better if I have someone to help me do it. So i guess i headcanon-ed this into existence :^)

My waystalker kerillian cosplay at c2e2 :^) Still working on my sword and dagger so i borrowed some random larp swords LOL.

Yesterday's kerillian progress- made her leg armor and cloak! The weird hood was a minor engineering puzzle but the pattern i drew worked on the first try, so no sweat. I actually filmed making the tree bark armor this time so ill post that once i get back from c2e2!

Ubersreik Five Ranked By Alcohol Tolerance:

1) Bardin: Has had a nonzero BAC for over a century

2) Sienna: Can actually drink most people under the table. ("The alcohol burns off, darlings!")

3) Kruber: Average tolerance, but has had a lot of practice.

4) Kerillian: Complete lightweight, gets competitive with the 'mayflies', which makes it worse.

5) Saltzpyre: Blacks out after 2 glasses of wine.

This is canon and i will not be hearing objections at this time

My cosplay friends and I took a weekend trip and I decided last minute to put a Kerillian costume together so we could take photos :\^)

Quick facts:

-It's far from done but i did as much as I could do in 4 days >-|o. Still need to do the leg armor, finish the cloak/fabric weathering, and make an in-game weapon (which one should i make?)

-the glaive/axe thing is a friend's borrowed from a Dragon Age shoot we did on the same day ^__^; ;

-The moss on the armor is real preserved reindeer moss! It's so soft and smells really good, like pu-ehr tea (kerillian confirmed for smelling nice💚)

-I'm gonna try and post a tutorial on the bark armor to my yt channel soon!

Hopefully i'll be back with the finished product asap. There's some other Vermintide stuff i'm thinking about making, we'll see!

Hey! I absolutely adore your pukei pukei armor, what kind of faux fur did you use, how did you get the texture that it is, and what kind of paint did you use to treat it?! Sorry to ask so many questions but I’m a not very knowledgeable in materials and treatments and would love to know!

Hey! I used this cosplay fabric from joann, brushed out some of the texture, treated the surface with a gloss acrylic medium and black paint mixture to give the paint something dark and less porous to sit on top of, and painted it with an iridescent pigment i emulsified into an airbrush medium to make my own airbrush paint. I then added more color using a metallic green paint from jacquard. Im in the process of editing a video on how i did all of this, so stay tuned! You can also see progress on my Twitter

How in gods name did you make the Pukei Pukei scales, they're pretty amazing.

They're made out of eva foam! Then painted with an airbrush paint i made out of iridescent/color shifting powder pigment
