For any nest/den-dwelling kin

Today I learned how to make my bed feel a little more like my kintype’s dens,so I thought I’d share this with you guys. It would probably work best for bigger beds that are against one or more walls.

-Get a fitted sheet that’s one size or a half size too big for your current mattress. Try to find one in a color that would fit wherever you’re trying to imitate. Like brown for dirt,tan/green for nesting grass,etc.

-Strip the bed of its sheet and find as many extra pillows/small blankets as you can. Three or four body pillows,a few small thin blankets,and one large blanket worked best for me.

-Line the pillows up around the edges of your mattress,padding the corners with extra blankets until its circular enough for your tastes. Den-dwellers may want to leave one side open for comfort(I left the foot of my bed flat).

-Drape the larger blanket over all of the pillows so they don’t slip out of place too easily. Tuck the edges under the mattress if possible.

-Carefully pull the fitted sheet into place over the nest/den you’ve made. Securely pull the edges and corners under your mattress,then press down in the dip at the center to relax the sheet into it.

-(Optional) Line the dip in the center with things that smell like people/things you love,stuffed animals,childhood blankets,more pillows for you to bury yourself in,whatever you like to sleep with at night.

-(Optional) For den-dwelling creatures,secure a dark colored blanket/non-fitted sheet to the walls around your bed/ceiling and drape the edges around your bed to give you something to crawl under as you’re getting into your bed. I used a staple gun like the kind you use to put christmas lights up with so it wouldn’t fall on me in the middle of the night,but if the blanket is light-weight enough thumb tacks or even duct tape would work as long as you didn’t pull on it.
