TUMBLR IS GIVING ME SO MANY PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW. it won’t let me reblog things. which honestly is a problem that happens ALL the time to me. i have dungeons & dragons tonight, but hopefully tumblr will work after a time out.
“wow. i haven’t had one of those weeks in years i’d forgotten what it feels like. do you have a secret that can i be on so i can have a wonderful week?”
“well, i always think about one positive thing in my life and then if i start to feel bad, then i think about all that i have to live for. i’ve got a lot of things to be happy about.”
“oh – don’t worry, dad. your house will be our first and last stop.” natalie reassured him, a genuine smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “i’m sure she’ll want to show you and mom all of her goodies once the night ends and i’m going to need help dealing with her sugar rush.”
“i’d hope so. she’s growing up so fast. i need to be there for every moment.” marcos was proud of natalie, she was doing such a good job with ava. “she better show us everything and not eat a single piece until we’ve seen everything.” he laughed. “she’ll crash, they always do.”
“I envy your optimism,” he said before he took a sip of the coffee in his hand. He smiled and asked, “Anything I can do to help make your week easier?”
“optimism is easy,” marcos replied with a smile. “no, i don’t think so. not right now anyway. i’m working on getting signs printed for my campaign. hopefully those will be finished by this week.”
natalie was extremely thankful for how supportive her parents were towards her – especially after her rebellious high school days. she knew that she was quite the handful when she was younger and that she had done man things that shoul have made her lose their trust forever. but they believed in her – which ultimately helped her believe in herself. “oh, i don’t think i’ll have to make her.” the brunette laughed, picturing the toddler singing to strangers on halloween night. “she’d get loads of candy regardless – after all, she’s an alvarez.”
marcos had always believed in being supportive of a person. watching his parents raise all of his siblings and be supportive of them, even though his siblings all went different directions, really made him want to be that sort of parent. he didn’t get certain decisions some of his children made, but that didn’t mean he didn’t love them. “well, you better bring her over here because i want to see her and i’ve got to be here for our trick-or-treaters.”
“i have watched moana so many times this week that i’m actually having dreams about returning the heart to te fiti myself.” natalie mused, an eruption of giggles following her words – “but, i must admit, watching ava belt out the lyrics to how far i’ll go is making it immensely worth it. i have a feeling i’m going to have to surprise her with a moana halloween costume sometime this week.”
marcos always liked hearing stories about his granddaughter, especially when it seemed to make his own daughter happy. he smiled to himself thinking of both of them watching movies together. “she’ll get all sorts of candy dressed like that, especially if you make her sing,” he let out a little laugh.

marcos has always lived in ashborne. his father married an illegal immigrant to secure her green card, but actually did love her. marcos grew up around a lot of family. LIKE a lot of family. he has 6 brothers & 3 sisters. marcos is the middle of them all.
his father owned a construction company, which he worked at. marcos was one of the few in his family that actually enjoyed working in construction. his father’s company was the biggest & best in the area, so he grew up pretty wealthy, but not SUPER rich.
high school & college were normal for him. he went to technical school to learn the building side of things & then eventually went to business school to take care of the business side of things after his father passed away. ( that happened a few years ago )
he’s always wanted a big family, & was thankful to find a wife that wanted the same. marcos is happily married & loves his family so much. he’s the type of dad that will bail his children out of jail even if he doesn’t know what they did to get there -- no questions asked. i say think phil from modern family, but like without all the clumsiness -- so the bad dad jokes, embarrassing his children in public, but all around a good guy. he’s expecting twins soon as well.
his secret is...
a year ago, marcos was caught giving jobs to illegal immigrants by the police. knowing his plans to run for town council, he decided to pay the police off rather than be formally charged. the money came out of his pocket, not the company, so financially, he’s not doing as well as appearances may seem. & he’s constantly lying about where that money is.
