mister-fabian:
-nod- Me too. It sounds horrible, but I suppose we’ll be lucky if we all make it out alive. You know I’ll do everything in my power to make sure Frank comes home alive, right? -looks at her- And on that note, can I get you another drink? It looks like we’re both about done and I think I need another.
-breathes in a sharp breath when he says the thing about getting out alive, and sits up again, looking at him seriously with his next comment; completely ignoring the question about the drinks- Fab, no--I mean, yes, I want you to have Frank’s back always, but I want you both to come home each time. Don’t... -looks down, trying not to tear up again- Hestia is at home feeling the same way I do, so just... -looks up at him again, toying with her hands like he is in your gif- You and Frank both come home each time, alright? -nods, swallowing hard and wiping a stray tear before calling over the barkeep to order them another round, sitting back in her chair and breathing deeply-
mister-fabian:
-Gives a ~dark chuckle/huff- Well, we’re all in this together, right. After Pete was born, I begged Moody to put me on desk duty because I was terrified at what might happen, but I realized that it’s just never going to change. I’m always terrified that every time I see my brother it’ll be the last time… But that’s why we became aurors and why we side with Albus. -puts his arm around her shoulder and gives it a squeeze- I’m sure he’ll be home soon.
-her face turns even more downcast as he speaks, her chest aching while she takes on his pain as her own, nodding just barely at his final remark with pursed lips, as though trying to force herself to believe it- Well, I hate that you’re going through the same feelings, but I am glad not to have to face all this alone. I’m sure he will be... -sighs deeply, pressing her head into his shoulder for comfort- I’m just ready for this all to be over.

mister-fabian:
-takes a drink and looks into it, swirling it slightly before looking back at her- Al, you need to remember he is one of the best out there. He may be bruised and battered, but he will always do everything he can to come home to the two of you. -frowns and sighs a bit- I can’t tell you that I’m sure he’s fine, or that everything will be okay. We might all wake up tomorrow and this thing is all over, or we could find out the worst is yet to come. I know it’s hard not being out there with him, but you’re both doing it for Neville. If you’re not ready to leave him, then hold him closer at night. Frank will always fight his way back home. -reaches across and wipes away a stray tear from her face- No matter what happens, I’ll always be here for you, as will Gideon and Hess and Molly. We’re family, and we’ll all get through it together.
-nods as he’s talking, squeezing her eyes closed and trying her best to shove all of the horrific images out of her mind that plague her constantly, listening as intently as she’s able given how distraught she feels, and wipes her face again after he does, sniffling and leaning her head over to rest on his chest/shoulder- Thank you, Fab. I...I’m so grateful that we’re all still together. I just...wish he were here, too. Wish I knew when it was going to end. -looks at his hand (maybe it’s on the counter?) and reaches out to rub it sentimentally- I’m sorry, I know these are all your same fears, too. I don’t mean to burden you with this.
mister-fabian:
I think it’s gotten to six, but sometime I’ll count the twins as one to keep it easy. She keeps talking about wanting a girl so I’m worried she’ll have twelve before that happens. -Nods and takes a sip of his drink- Alice.. - takes a deep breath and looks away for a moment before returning his gaze- When was the last time you saw him?
-breaks a bit at the question, fully crying now but wiping away the tears quickly like in the last gif, shaking her head as if trying to pull herself together and taking another long swig of her drink before answering- I don’t know, a few mornings ago he popped in, but he looked...he looked horrible, Fab, he was all bruised up and looked nearly starved. -shakes her head more, fiddling with her glass and not meeting his eye- It was fine before, you know, because we were always on mission together, toughing it out together, but Neville is still so young, and I’m not quite ready to leave him, but... -her voice gets softer and she sounds very fragile- I don’t know, I don’t know, I just miss him and I’m worried constantly...
mister-fabian:
-Waves over a server and asks for a bottle of firewhiskey- Well, last I heard they were fine. Pete’s been spending some time with Molly while Hess and I work so he’s happy as a squid. I was hesitant to ask her to help, but Mum’s getting up in age and Molls has a litter full anyways so she said what’s one more. Between you and I, I have no idea how she can tell them all apart. I go over and all I see are dashes of red hair and hope I don’t trip on one. -smiles slightly- How are Neville and Frank doing? I see Frank every now and again around the office but haven’t had a chance to talk to him much.
-listens intently as he’s talking, nodding and only breaking eye contact when the server comes back over with their firewhiskeys, nodding and muttering a ‘thank you’ before turning back to him- Oh, I know, that woman is a saint for being as wonderful of a mother as she is. I can hardly keep my head on straight with one child, let alone...what? Five? -shakes her head and finally takes a sip of her firewhiskey, making it a bit of a long one to prepare herself for answering his question- Neville’s good. -makes a small ‘ahh’ sound as the drink burns her throat a bit, and to give herself another moment- He’s finally sleeping through the night most nights, what a blessing. And Frank...Frank’s... -her voice cracks a bit and she’s clearly trying not to cry, covering her mouth and swallowing the tears down- The mission’s are just getting longer and longer, you know...
mister-fabian:
One drink never hurts. Now, are you going to tell me what’s got you so glum or should we share a bottle of firewhisky first?
-laughs and sighs at the same time, thinking for a moment before nodding with a half-hearted smile- Let’s get that firewhiskey and see how it goes. Tell me about you--how’re Peter and Hestia?
Can I buy you a drink?
-sighs in that way when you’re trying to be light-hearted but aren’t really pulling it off- Guess one drink couldn’t hurt. Neville’s at his gran’s for the night, anyhow.
please, like or reblog if you save/use, thanks.
