A part of her was relieved. She wouldn’t have to stop drinking. She wouldn’t have to get fat and no be able to see her toes. She wouldn’t have to wear ugly maternity clothes and have weird cravings. She never wanted to have kids, anyways. This was just something she wanted to do to make Allie happy and Allie hadn’t really been into it because she knew that Lilah was doing it for the wrong reasons..... right? 

But a part of her was.... really sad. She never wanted kids, but she had kind of gotten used to the idea of having one around. She had bought that onesie months ago. ....There had been cute little Mommy and baby outfits she had seen and dresses up a little girl in cute little clothes would have been fun. As much as she wanted to, there was only so much you could put on a dog. And Allie would have been such a great mom.... and Allie wanted it so bad. She had agreed to marry her without the thought of kids in the picture, but Lilah knew that Allie wanted kids and a part of her was nervous that now, because it wasn’t ever going to be an option, that maybe, Allie might leave.  She felt..... broken. Even if it wasn’t something she really wanted to use, it was now known that a part of her didn’t work. A part that made her.....woman and.... even submissive. 

She didn’t care. She didn’t care that Julian had been distraught by the news, so much that he rushed over after finding out. That he apologized and brought over wine, mourning over the loss of something that wasn’t supposed to matter. Something that he had basically been begging for days ago. She didn’t care how he asked his sister how she was, as if he knew she was going to be brokenhearted. As is there was definitely something wrong. But it didn’t definitely the feeling of being broken. 

She didn’t care that Allie had gotten them another dog after the news. She did care that she didn’t get to pick the dog, but... it was cute. It was definitely an Allie dog. And....it helped a little. It felt like maybe Allie was going to be okay. Like, they could just have puppy babies and the world wouldn’t turn upside down that her submissive couldn’t fill all her needs. That this would be good enough. 

She didn’t care that it had come down to “good enough”. She had never wanted to be good.... enough. 

The super expensive bottle of wine brought over by Julian was halfway gone, sitting in front of her like a reminder of her shortcomings. The clear bottle with the pale gold liquid seemingly judging her for having drank so much in a couple of nights, reminding her that she was not perfect, not able to be perfect. Not anymore.
