So pleased that three of my former students recently completed first drafts. It's a major milestone for any novelist, so many first-timers don't even get that far. It's a time to celebrate, pat yourself on the back, and regroup for the long revision road ahead. But it's not magic. It's just discipline and plenty of ass in the chair time.
