Past Life 2A

I’m on a castle. It’s Gaelic. I can see the ocean. I’m on top, looking out. I’m male and I have on a guard’s uniform.

I’m twenty-two. My name is Conrad, O’Brien.

It’s Castle Dublin.

My wife is Gwen (she’s my husband, 'Dave', too). We have a good relationship. We live in a small, comfy, peat and wooden house. And we have a beautiful fireplace.

We have one child: Devlin, a boy. He was born in 1721, during Saxon raids.

On top of the castle I’m angry. I want to be home. But I’m on duty.

We’re Catholic.

I’m strong.

There’s a battle. I’m run through with a lance. I died on top of the castle; it was unexpected. I’m forty-three.

My last thought was of my wife.

I’m wearing a long white blouse, a long blue skirt and a red corset.

I’m working.

I have white slender hands and a gold ring with an oval shaped red stone.

I’m barefoot, young, and healthy.

I’m on a hilltop looking over a green valley. There’s a wind and its spring.

I have long blond hair.

Down in the valley are my loved ones. I live in a white cottage with a blue door and a thatched roof. We have geese.

I got married to ‘Dave’ (who is also her present husband) in a dress with a green frock coat, in Ireland, Kilderry, in 1873.

We’re Catholic. I’m twenty-four and he’s twenty-three. O’Conner. There’s a “sh” sound to his name. I’m Maureen.

The most important event was the birth of my son, Charles.

The saddest event is my own death. I have white lips. I’ve been ill for five days. Many are ill, with the plague. I’m forty-one. (Crying) I’m leaving my husband. I have 5 children: 2,12,6,10,11. (Coughing) I say goodbye and then I go up.

My body goes to a wagon. It’s muddy on the way to the church.
