I had a wonderful time with The University of South Carolina College of Education at their Gathering Table event to share insights & advice in education to aspiring teachers. I also met wonderful members of the Faculty, share perspectives with the Dean of Education, and learn about COE initiatives. It is all about the children and whenever I can help in any aspect in the profession, I am more than willing to be of service. #ilovethekids #teacherleadership

I got off the plane in just the right amount time. I had an awesome time at EdVenture Children’s Museum first-ever 100 Men Who Cook for Kids event on today, Sunday, May 21, 2017. Of course I had to support the wonderful The South Carolina Education Association. Great conversations with my Richland County School District One Superintendent Craig Witherspoon, Mayor Steve Benjamin and his lovely girls, Chief Aubrey Jenkins, Superintendent-Elect of Richland County School District Two, Baron Davis, former Mayor of Columbia Bob Coble, Dwayne Gatson and Hayward Thompson of AC Flora ROTC (loved the YamCocks dish) and many others about the importance of leadership for children and education. Wonderful event that Edventure was able to have. Thanks again!
Thank you to the South Carolina Senate for recognizing me as the 2017 Horace for Excellence in Teaching. Special thanks to Senator Mike Fanning, Horace Mann Jim Rhodes and Tim Smith, The University of South Carolina, The University of South Carolina College of Education Dean and Professor Jon Pedersen, Dr. Gloria Boutte, The South Carolina Education Association, my family and friends.
