This is a very interesting option to marketing the Kickstarter campaign. I've been considering it, so this is a very informative article.

THIS LAST LONELY PLACE - PRODUCTION UPDATE 6/30/12

Getting busy! This is a be careful what you wish for biz.

Always something to do. But it keeps me off the streets.

The Kickstarter page is basically finished, just need to go over the rewards and do a little proofreading, then we'll submit for approval. Amazon accounts are approved and if all gies according to plan we'll go live on July 9th for a 30-day window. It's all or nothing. I've learned so much through this process.

On Monday I'll start making some announcements on Facebook, Twitter, etc prepping people that the Kickstarter is coming. This week - despite it being the 4th of July - I'll reach out to some people I know in the press and film blogs and see if we can get support for the KS campaign.

Our first actor offer goes out on Monday, so keep your fingers crossed.

Still need to tweak this site a bit. The header font now seems a little big to me, need to make it smaller and less in-you-face.  Then I need to start focusing on content.

The truth is, starting  a social media empire is a ton of work, most of it completely detail orientated. You need to open various accounts, track passwords, make sure they all fit together and then make sure it works. Then, content baby

Excellent move by these filmmakers to take an alternate route. It makes so much sense. It's an avenue we're very interested in. "This Last Lonely Place" will likely follow something exactly like this.
