Optware: Transmission
SSH to your NAS. Use ipkg to install transmission. Do an ipkg update first.
ipkg install transmission
sleep 5
Create necessary file for transmission. replace /mnt/disk1/tmp to whatever working folder that you are using in your NAS.
/opt/bin/transmission-daemon -g /mnt/disk1/tmp/torrents/.config/transmission-daemon killall transmission-daemon sleep 2
I use nano to edit the config file. Install nano via 'ipkg install nano'. Edit the config file.
nano /mnt/disk1/tmp/.config/transmission-daemon/settings.json
Take note on the importants. refer to the complete list at https://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/EditConfigFiles

OpenWRT: Change default DNS to a better one
Configure OpenWRT for UNIFI
Assuming you have a working OpenWRT box. Objective is to 1) configure VLAN 500 (data) and 600 (IPTV) in Port 1 (WAN). 2) configure WAN to use PPPoE and 'dial' UNIFI and 3) configure port 5 as IPTV.
Login to OpenWRT then tab Network > Switch. Refer below:
Save & apply. Then tab Network > Interface. At WAN, click Edit. Change Protocol to PPPoE and confirm protocol change. Click Save & apply.
Key in UNIFI username and password and leave the rest as default. Click Physical settings and choose VLAN interface eth0.500.
Save & apply.
Plug in the connection from BTU to WAN port. Go back to interface and click Connect. You should achieve objective 1 and 2.
Now go back to Interface and click Add new interface at the bottom of the page.
Save & apply. Connect your hypp.tv box to port 5 (LAN port 4). Done.
Flash 1043ND to OpenWRT
Download latest OpenWRT build for 1043ND (Backfire). 1043ND is using Atheros 71xx chip.
http://downloads.openwrt.org/ > backfire/10.03.1/ar71xx/ find 1043nd. The current build as when this guide was written as below:
http://downloads.openwrt.org/backfire/10.03.1/ar71xx/openwrt-ar71xx-tl-wr1043nd-v1-squashfs-factory.bin
Unplug WAN port and use port 2 or 3.
Login to 1043ND webgui and upgrade the firmware using above file (*.bin). Wait until reboot.
Default subnet for OpenWRT is 192.168.1.0/24. Keep ping-ing to 192.168.1.1 to check when it is up. Point your browser to 192.168.1.1.
Default username is root, without password.
Done. Part 1.
