Hikaru no Go Story by Yumi Hotta and Art by Takeshi Obata When I was younger, I had a ghost-friend that nobody believed in. Although he didn't teach me much other than childhood mischief, I do miss his presence – even til this day. Hikaru Shindo encounters a similar experience, but the ghost he befriends is an ancient master player of Go, the traditional Japanese game of stones. Through their friendship, Hikaru gains an interest in the game – which is rich in strategy yet deceptively simple – and starts competing to become a professional Go player.
