Unfortunately, this language nerd is ironically monolingual and doesn’t have access to other translations of Warriors, nor has any idea what they actually mean, especially if the language isn’t a Germanic or Romance language.
So for the bilingual, trilingual, and other multilingual fans of Warriors, I implore you to assist by providing the names and translations of Warriors in other languages. For languages not written in the Latin script, I ask for the names be in the text of asks/submissions so I can copy-and-paste them into posts.
A Litmus Test on what I’d like included in submissions:
1 - The name/title in the native language. If the name/title differs when directly translated back into English, make note of the change in (parentheses). Example: Loudbelly - Rumpelbauch (Rumblebelly)
2 - For most cats, just warrior names are fine. No need to include kit or apprentice names for most of these characters.
2a - Include kit and/or apprentice names if there’s weird translation shenanigans going on.
2b - If the cat had a substantial name change (kittypet to warrior or warrior to leader), include those translations too.
2c - If the cat died as a kit or apprentice (like Mosskit or Gorsepaw), it’s fine, just use their little baby name.
2d - Some cats are presented together, like Princess and Smudge. In those cases, I’d like it presented with however the language expresses “X and Y”. Likewise, Midnight is written as “Midnight the Badger” and I’d like her translation to be however the language expresses that.
Thank you for visiting the library!
