Oh Dear // Aimi Hara // Chapter 1 // RE: Confession
"....."
Aimi wasn't sure whether to treat this trial like a joke the way it was, or to be concerned with the fact that one of them killed someone over the fact they wanted out of here. If they really went through with it, there'd be more blood on their hands but.... Eiji? She hadn't messed with them during the time they got here but.....
Well someone had to take responsibility for this crime.
She sighs and shakes her head, if only they weren't here in the first place....
"..... Eiji, I'm real sorry this whole situation's messed up. I'm not sure what's actually going to happen but.... Best of luck."
still on the wrong blog lol || Eiji || Trial 1 || RE: Confession, ATTN: Eiji
Kei stood there, eyes wide open, fingers wrapped around the podium still as he shook. Was... was that the truth? Was Eiji just trying to protect him? Oh gods, there was so much he wanted to say right now, so much to apologize for, but in a fit of pride, he simply stood there, frozen as a statue. When the words did come out, they were stifled and not much more than a whisper.
"Eiji..."
He looked around the room at his fellow classmates. Perhaps now their judgement of him would soften; after all, he really had nothing to do with this case, nor did he predict any of this happening. And while he understood Eiji's perspective, he didn't get why Eiji had to blame him, above anyone else. Perhaps it was a loop hole to protect him? He wasn't sure...
"You... You idiot! You made me think... You..."
He couldn't think of what to say; he had to hold his pride, but my goodness did this leave a burn. He swallowed and stared at the crowd, but mostly Eiji, face blank and eyes wide.
"This one time, Eiji... This one time I'll forgive you. Do you hear me? Because I'm a good person, I'll turn the other cheek. But..."
What he wanted to say here was: "I hope you forgive me, too" but of course, Kei- being that he was never good with words in the first place- didn't know how to admit that. At least, not here. So, he continued talking as usual, despite the tears swelling in the corners of his eyes once more.
"You can be my cute butler still... I'll 'pay it forward', as Kubotas do... For trying to check on my family, even though..."
A pause. A long one. He stood back and pointed to his chest as his voice wavered.
"Eiji, come over here. You don't have a choice."
It's Joke | Monobear | Chapter 1 | Re: Towa
"Huh? Family and friends??? What family and friends are you talking about?
"Oh you're talking about that? Upupu... well, to tell you the truth -- it's joke!"
It's All Over But the Crying || Towa Tobe || Ch 1 || Re: Confession, Monobear
Given how he was acting... it made sense. This end result wasn't unprecedented but it still left her feeling a little foggy. She should feel... sadder, that's what she can't help thinking. Eiji is crying. Others show their sympathy in other words. It's a feeling she wants to have and express but has never come easily. In her mind, at least, it's easy enough to justify. They're just strangers. That's why she doesn't hate Eiji Ebina, even though she can't say she was ever fond of him either. Isn't it cruel? In order for Natsuko Ikeda to have her justice it'd mean... someone would, someone should care about her enough to be angry about her death. But in Towa's eyes, Eiji and Natsuko were the same. They were both strangers, only one was a criminal and one was a victim. Sure, from an outsider's point of view it was sad merely by being but it was like reading the newspaper. Somehow she had a hard time believing it even had anything to do with her. A side character to the end, hm. It's not like she'd even really found or contributed anything of worth.
... Not that... Yahiro and his bully boyfriend had either, despite the myopic moron's ramblings. They'd derailed proceedings, acted like utter children and put on display the teenage arrogance she so loathed in her peers.
After taking a few moments to take in the atmosphere and hear the words of others her eyes move to Eiji.
"I hate liars."
Simple to the point. That wouldn't change. But she couldn't just hate every person that lied. If everyone lied, it'd mean hating everyone and that was tiring.
"But everybody lies, right? You're just a kid. Hate you personally. That's not really... we don't really have a right to judge you. Panic flares, your vision turns red. And you act. But we're just strangers, really. The people you need to say sorry to are Kubota-san and Ikeda-san. They're the ones you really hurt here. Anyone pretending to be hurt here... is just getting off feeling miserable for misery's sake. Some fake kind of human compassion, synthetic sympathy in the hopes of finding kinship. It's not real. I mean, pretending to be friends with each other, isn't that stupid?"
Right. It was just human arrogance, once again, at its finest. Shedding tears over people you barely knew in order, to what, to feel something? To feel like you actually cared about something? Maybe it was desperation. That's what it seemed like at times.
"Besides... if anything people have a right to thank you. Regardless of your reasoning, people... were being threatened, right? You acted in order to get out. Presumably to help them, check on them."
One supposes. She glances Monobear's way to confirm this.
"Monobear-sensei, speaking of that, I would like to ask about those you threatened. Are they alright?"
Not that it mattered.
The Wings of Goodbye || Yahiro Amane || Trial 1 || RE: Confession || ATTN: All
Yahiro looks blankly at Eiji. Yeah, he had known. He had known, and had proven himself useful to Haruka. He grins, happy at that thought. He brings a hand to his cheek, barely concealing the blush.
Someone is going to die! Someone had murdered one of his club members! His life was in danger! Why was he acting like this...? Why was he acting like this was a usual occurrence for him?
"Harucchan, I was right, see? Ebina-jukeisha's the filthy murderer!"
His words are harsh. He doesn't care about Eiji right now, only that he solved the crime. He turns to Eiji.
"Ebina-jukeisha, why don't you listen to me?"
His face is dangerously expressionless, and his eyes are locked onto Eiji's staring him down.
"Actually no... why doesn't everyone listen? ...If you kill and you think you can get away with it... you're wrong. He," Yahiro points to Eiji. "... should serve as an example for you all. I will catch you, expose you... and I will sentence you to death."
He smiles, locking in a vote for Eiji Ebina.
"Ebina-jukeisha... remember what Harucchan told you okay? Pbbt. And to think, we could've used you to our advantage. What a shame."
He waves amiably at Eiji, then turns to Haruka for praise.
Crying fowl already, are we? (∘❛ั⌔❛ั∘) Re: Eiji’s Murder Confession (∘❛ั⌔❛ั∘) Attn: Eiji
It was not long before Eiji confessed-and this time, it was true. Still as dramatic as the last one, but this time it was not a lie. So he had done it after all. All that chaos and clamor hadn’t been for nothing, though they would have preferred for this whole thing to have been over with a while ago.
“…”
Eiji Ebina…they’d spoken once before. He’d seemed friendly enough but anyone could be pushed to murder, huh? They turn to Eiji, looking at him with a neutral expression, though a trace of irritation might be heard when they speak to him.
“You would have sent one of us to die in order to leave. Perhaps it might have been Kubota-san. You didn’t think upon that, did you.”
They frown.
“I dislike this whole thing, however. I’m sorry this is how things ended up.”
Weesnaw || Suzume || Chapter 1 || Re: Confession
When Eiji began to explain all Suzume could do was nod and stare blankly from Kei to Eiji...the full story unraveling right in front of her and the lies stopped. But did the truth really feel any better for anyone? Well it appeared to have hurt some but Suzume had begun to feel sympathy…but then promptly lost it as Eiji continued on and Suzumes hand laid her pen down and she looked away from Eiji and let out a small sigh before she opened her mouth to speak.
“Ebina-san…you do realize that with your actions and original motive you were willing to send someone else to their death? Even if you believe your motives were for the best I am afraid you are gravely mistaken. Your choices caused the end of dear Ikeda-sans life and nearly someone elses if you would have succeeded…”
She sounded as flat as ever as she eventually looked over at Eiji her natural frown sinking a bit more than usual…in disappointment possibly.
“To be hated for such a crime is only natural but it will take quite a bit to forgive you for taking someone’s lives on top of attempting to get away with said murder for you to be able to escape…your intentions were well meaning but they were something worth ending nearly two lives for.”
She pauses and looks Eiji dead in the eyes before speaking again…
“….I am aware that you would like us to not hate you nor dislike you before your execution is served … for your own piece of mind I do not hate nor dislike you, Ebina-san. I much do like you but your choices are poor…I do hope you understand your consequences for what you have done.”
So It Has Come to This... || Yuuka Ito || Chapter 1 Trial || RE: Eiji
Taking a breath Ito sighed, she did not want things to be this way, somebody had died, the murderer was caught, and it was not who she wanted it to be. Taking a breath she looked back at the others, rather stoic in expression.
"Than I suppose we are done here."
She was rather disappointing in Eiji, she had hopped it hadn't been him, but as it turns out it was. She hated finding this out but she would not question it, she did not need to. Her suspensions were correct. Taking a breath she apologized again to everybody.
"I am very sorry that I caused any disturbance during this trial, it was very immature of me, and I have disrespected our wilted flower."
Turning to Eiji she sighed
"Do not worry young flower, I do not dislike you, nor do I hate you. However, what you have done can not be forgiven, you have taken a friend from us, not only your victim, but you as well. I am sorry that it was like this, but in a situation like this, I cannot vote for somebody who is Innocent. Thank you for being brave and being honest... I am sure many of us will miss you..."
Despite what she said she did not seem to be sad, however, she did not want what ever SOME PEOPLE might say to bother the child.
Hot Dog I Love That Weenie Man || Torahiko || CH 1 || RE: Eiji
For the most part Torahiko had been quiet, listening to everyone chatter as his gaze darted back and fourth between them all. For a brief moment his eyebrow twitched slightly at the fashion disaster comment, but he held his tongue. Now wasn't the time to be getting pissed off at Kei, even if he had every right to I mean have you seen how amazing this outfit is, it probably wasn't the best time to be throwing insults.
Especially not when there's was practically a confession now. Yiikes.
"Ebina-san...."
Shaking his head, his voice was filled with sorrow and disappointment. He struggled to find the words to say. What else was he even suppose to say?? Was there even anything else to say after all of this?
Torahiko really didn't want to vote for him, not after everything Eiji has been through. He liked Eiji, he really did, and maybe he did have good intentions but in the end he still murdered Natsuko. And as much as Torahiko liked the butler he wasn't sure if he could forgive such a thing.
With a sullen look, he locks in his vote without another word.
Simply one hell of a butler || Nori || Ch 1 || Re: Eiji
No.
He hadn't wanted to believe it. He hadn't known if the rest of them wanted to, but it felt as though a shard of glass had been shoved into his chest, muscle forming around it as to embed it permanently within. He had not talked to Eiji Ebina before, but he wished he had. Perhaps he had been a kind soul, before the killing game drove him to the ledge.
Nori struggled to keep his feet on the ground, clenching the edge of the podium. His legs shook, sending his sandals clattering almost imperceptibly. So, this was it? A strange sense of relief washed over him, but it was not a welcome feeling. He forced himself to meet the butler's gaze.
"Ebina-han... If it were indeed for the good of everyone, it may have been an honorable act. Mhmm.."
He twirled a strand of hair around his finger, a sad smile entering his visage.
"But you admit that you have withheld the truth, that you have engaged in deception. Forsooth, how am I to know that you speak the truth of your true intentions?"
Nori stood up straight, his left arm dangling rather uselessly by his side as the other still rested on the stand. He had a sympathetic look to him, although his true emotions could not be summed up in a single word.
"Thus, that is all I wish to say."
He looked away.
"...B-b-b-bye."
Colony Collapse Syndrome | Sango | Chapter 1 | Re: Eiji & Others | ATTN: Eiji
Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth -- for a long time, all Sango could do was watch with her hands clenched into fists on the podium before her as her clubmates -- her friends, these are her friends, they're all friends -- made accusations, defenses, threats, confessions --
It was too much, but as much as she wanted to throw her hands over her ears and take a break, she couldn't do it. She... Needed to know everything. She had to know!
And now she did.
She knew that Eiji had been harassed. She knew that her clubmates, who she had assumed to be friends rather than foes, had assaulted him, for reasons she neither knew nor would have been able to comprehend if she did. She knew that Eiji murdered Natsuko. All around her, the happy little hive she'd built up was falling apart and crumbling away.
"It's... It's okay! It's oooookay!" She beat her fists against the podium once more, looking straight at Eiji as she did so.
"I-I don't hate you! I don't hate you, and I won't ever, ever, ever hate you, 'cause you're still my friend, and this... Th-This isn't your fault! It's not your fault, or Kubota-kun's fault, or Kawasumi-kun's fault, or -- o-or -- anybody! It's Monobear's fault, okay!? I-It's not... It's not..."
She tilted her head down, and let out a keening, whine of a sob.
"It's not faaaaaaaaiiiiir!!"
Yes. | Monobear | Chapter 1 | Re: Eiji | ATTN: Everyone
"Oh my, oh my~! What a heart-wrenching confession, Moe Moe Eiji-kun! It makes me so proud... you kids must be feeling the worst kind of despair from knowing that this moe one is actually a murderer! Upupupu... upupupu!!"
"Well, well, well... shall we vote now, perhaps? I'm sure you're all itching to watch me execute someone in front of your very eyes...! I know I am!"
This is Where I Fall || Eiji || Ch 1 || Re: The Truth
Towa was right. Lying was terrible. Lying was selfish. Trying to die in Kei’s place was selfish too. In fact, everything Eiji Ebina was doing was selfish. Someone had died -- Natsuko, his friend, had died -- and he was trying to distract from the task at hand. What kind of pathetic person was he?
So much for getting out of this mess with some grace intact.
Eiji took a few deep breaths in before nodding. His voice shook as he spoke, but this time he wasn’t sobbing.
“Well, ah, your wish is my command.”
He glanced around at the others in the room. His classmates would probably hate him soon, if they didn’t already. His heart seemed to crack as his gaze landed on Natsuko’s portrait. Sorry, pony pal.
“Towa-san, you’re right. I’m lying. I’ve been lying all this time. I’m done now though... I just… I just wanted to leave so I could prove I wasn't worthless or useless or despicable or anything of those things people have called me! I promise I would have come back for you all...”
He brushed his tears away with his coat sleeve. So what if makeup stained his jacket now? Based on Monobear’s hints, it’d be stained with blood soon enough.
“I’d have checked on your family, Kei-kun. I… I know you care about them. That’s why I tried to throw you under the bus. If you got accused and somebody else got executed, then I could’ve left a-and…”
A sigh escaped his lips as he began to sob once more. Crying usually made him feel worse, and this was no exception. He had alienated everybody and now he was going to die and-- oh god, why’d he’d think he could do this?
“I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry… Kei-kun, please let me still be your butler! Please don’t let everybody h-hate me… I can’t die know-- knowing I’m worth less than dirt in everyone’s eyes.”
Why was life like this? He had counted on leaving, but now now there was no hope.
“I’m sorry I lied to everyone. I needed to escape… I-- I know it’s bad, and I’m so sorry I killed Ikeda-san, but I wanted to prove myself! I wanted to help everyone! I wanted everyone to escape! But… I didn’t. I couldn’t. I’m sorry I’m such a failure… But it was all my fault, alright? Kei-kun had nothing to do with this, nor did anybody else. Ikeda-san didn’t deserve this… I’m so sorry, everybody…”
In a low, raw voice, he added,
“I don’t want to be hated.”
I'm on the wrong blog but I wanted to reply || Kei || Re: Suzume
Kei was still in shock that people doubted him. It was so obvious, at least to him. But maybe it was because Eiji was kind, and he himself was throwing out insults right and left. But he was upset, who could blame him? Things were always like this with him, it seemed. He leaned over the podium again, tears swelling in his eyes as he clasped the podium so hard it literally caused the palms of his hands to bleed.
"Why did I say that? Ahem, it's not rocket science!"
He glanced towards Eiji, a ball in his throat as it literally pained his heart what he was going to say. He didn't want to give the other boy the satisfaction of knowing he was hurt, but his life was on the line here. He had no other choice, considering no one was going to believe him if he didn't confess.
"Because I REALLY REALLY LIKED him...! If he wanted to lie and say he was with me... there must have been a reason for it. So I... I backed him up. Because I, Kubota Kei, am a good person. I didn't want him to get hurt. There's nasty vermin after him, and... to see him like that..."
He clutched the podium harder, as if that were even possible. He turned his head to stare at the surface, to keep the audience from seeing his tears. No one had that right, especially not Eiji. He took a moment to collect himself, and once he did so, he glared at the class, face red and puffy, and his expression mimicked that of severe desperation.
"I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS GOING TO THROW ME UNDER THE BUS. I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE! GODDAMN IT, EIJI, TELL THE FUCKING TRUTH! PLEASE..."
He grit his teeth and looked at the butler, panting out breaths as his heart raced faster and faster.
"Please..."
Foal Play || Suzume || Chapter 1 || Re: Kei,Eiji & Towa || Attn: Eiji
Her patience was not growing thin if anything she was known for having a great amount of patience in her line of work..! As an analyzer you cannot jump to the first conclusion you are given, you must look at the small pieces and then form a larger picture with them before you have the full story. Suzume kept writing down small notes about what she had learned so far and examined throughout the trial.
When it came to Eijis claims of being unable to bake…but being able to cook that was not enough of an alibi and Suzume was not about to clear someone based on their claims…especially after the other suspect so easily attempted to change their alibi..but as she looked over to where Eiji stood she saw the bruises on his face and her eyes narrowed for a moment… but instead of questioning him…soon enough an answer came…Kei had spoken on Eijis behalf on answering the sudden mystery of the bruising…
“Ebina-san…is this true…? Did Kawasumi-san harm you and cause that bruise…? If so…was there practical reasoning for Kawasumi-san to have done that to you..? And most importantly… Why did you cover it up? Was there reason that you had to have hidden it..?”
She pauses for a moment before looking at Towa and then closing her eyes for a moment in thought, processing what she was going to say next before she began to speak again and slowly opened her eyes and looking from Towa…to Kei and Eiji.
“Tobe-san…does have a point…if there is anything either of you are hiding from the rest of us or even each other…we would prefer you quit…if Ebina-san is indeed our culprit it does not make sense as to why you, Kubota-san lied on his behalf early on. Was this your plan all along? To throw us off track so neither of you would end up guilty?”
Why do we do this || Kei || Re: Eiji, ATTN: Eiji
Kei didn't understand why Eiji was doing this, if the other boy would die in his stead to begin with. He stood there, shocking, hands shaking from both anger and fear at the spectacle before him, and what stung the most was not only did his butler betray him in every aspect of the word, but he led all these other people on to think negatively of him. Kei really didn't know how to deal with that.
"Proof? What more do you need? I'm– ah, I'm squeamish, therefore I couldn't have stabbed her?! Just the thought of it..." He paused and shook his head. "My stomach hurts." Another pause. "And I cannot cook or bake, because the Kubota family sees no reason to! We have paid house maids to do it for us! I don't even know the difference between the two?!"
He choked up and glared at Eiji.
"And you." He pointed. "You said you loved me so I protected you with my kindness. I thought you loved me. I thought someone actually loved me! So you either rot in hell or you prove you love me and confess, because it's clearly you who did it, right?! If you wish to die for my sake so much, just tell the truth so I'm not stuck here with these... these vile accusations."
He waved his hand dismissively.
"Oh, and the bruises? Why don't you tell them where they came from, hm?"
He glared over at Haruka beside him.
"That... That ugly bafoon did that to you, no?! You could have just as easily accused him, and no one would have bat an eyelash. After all, you have the bruises to prove he hurt you! So why– why are you accusing me?"
He felt bad, seeing Eiji cornered, crying to himself, face smeared with makeup and bruising alike. But at the same time, this person had just proved he didn't care a bit for Kei, at least in Kei's eyes, and that in and of itself made him not care what happened to his used-to-be butler.
