Old photos from a visit to the Book Jewel. First time I went I did t get to pet Pages, the cat, but weāre slowly becoming more friendly. They have lots of cute non book stuff too including tea and stuff animals (which I have a weakness for).
Great place to stop if you need to kill time before picking up someone at LAX.

I missed my first flight and had to get rescheduled. I donāt leave LA for another two hours but Iām so exhausted. Letās see how the rest of the day goes ā¤ļø

How I got to my hotel vs. how I left it
I did not plan on being completely alone in NYC, however I am determined to make the most of it. Iām staying in Manhattan which means thereās a lot to see while walking.
I went to Central Park on a quest to finally see the Alice in Wonderland sculpture. Luckily I ran into a few familiar faces and feathery friends on the way.

New bookstore opened the mall! Freaking out about this!
Also reasonably priced used vinyls. Not terrible considering some places Iāve seen records go for.

Found all these books in a box in my trunk. Iām actually pretty excited to read āA Higher Form of Politicsā because my boss recommended it to me. I do feel a little silly though because I think this was the bookstore copy from when we did that purge two years agoā¦

Booktunes are back!!!
This monthās playlist is heavy on self deprecation, moody vibes, and angst. Recently Iāve gotten REALLY into Sophie Hunter. She just writes so viscerally about mental illness in a way that makes me feel less lonely. Obviously we have some Halsey and Dounia because I am a long time fan of both. Another person Iāve recently gotten into is Pom Pom Squad. Her music easily made its way onto this monthās playlist.
If you visit the bookstore in person you might hear these tunes over the speakers! Or not! Who knows?
