A Poem for the Prophet — a poem by Arctikos.
This poem is based on the nurturing quality of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when it came to his ummah (the worldwide community of believers across time and space)

It's a strange sort of flashback when you sense in someone the same desperation that you were once in. The simple act of helping them then becomes a much more deeper act of helping the past you, when you were helpless. In a way it even takes off your back the weight of those terrible memories of wanting to help yourself but being unable to.
Try to make people's lives easier whenever you get a chance to.
“Do good to others as God has done good to you”
— from (Qur'ān, 28:77)
Reacting to everything and anything that triggers you, is one of the main reasons of the disturbance of your heart.
While responding wisely and proportionately to stimuli is a sign of life, spending all of your emotional energies in reaction to every other trigger means that you are living in reaction, and not in action.
The believer responds thoughtfully, and knows how to pick his or her battles, and follows the Prophetic advice of “Leave that which does not concern you.”
This is the first step to spiritual clarity and inner peace— knowing when to let go, how to let go, what to let go of, and what not to.
At its core, the purpose of worship (ibadah) is to remember our reality, our origin and our destination, through remembering God, who is the ultimate source of our reality, our origin, and our final destination. Servitude to God is the highest station and rank there is that can be attained.
“That Home of the Hereafter We shall give to those who intend not high-handedness or mischief on earth: and the end is (best) for the righteous. “
— (Quran, 28:83)

I feel like I've really come a long way in striving to be a person who is able to stay calm and focused no matter what stresses, anxieties and circumstances I may face.
It's not the same as not feeling anything, or about denying emotions. To me it's more about being able to discern what is within my power and what isn't, and also — on a more inner level — about what's written and apportioned for me and what isn't.
The gradual dawning that I am the master of my intentions and my efforts, but not of my outcomes. I don't know if you can relate to this. But some of the hardest lessons to learn in life are acceptance, and reliance. The word Muslim literally means someone who surrenders to God. I might as well fully embody this word. The word that I best know myself by.

“Proclaim the Pilgrimage to all people...”
“They will come to you on foot...”
“and on every kind of swift mount...”
“emerging from every deep mountain pass”
“to attain benefits and celebrate God’s name, on specified days, over the livestock He has provided for them...”
“feed yourselves and the poor and unfortunate.”
— (Qur'ān, 22:27,28)
Studying the Quran. Chechnya, Russia.
It does not befit the wayfarer to grow attached to the resthouse. There's no use in tying all of your hopes to a world you could be leaving any time. There's no use in setting up camp in what is merely a passageway. We don't build for this world, for what is built here, remains here when we die. On the other hand, what we do for the hereafter outlives us.
وَمَا الۡحَیٰوۃُ الدُّنۡیَاۤ اِلَّا مَتَاعُ الۡغُرُوۡرِ
"... And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion."
— (Qur'ān, 57:20)
We all know this deep down. We all do.
