there are many different things to do when you wake up in this town ! you can visit the beach , trek through the dense forest , or spend your time at the arcade !

USEFUL INFO : the technology in this reality is nineties based ! if your character comes from a time with modern phones , they wake up with an older one . if your character doesn't live in a time with phones , congrats ! now they get to struggle with figuring the device out . have fun !

characters either wake up where you choose ! they can even wake up in a house or an apartment similar to their own . if they were dead before showing up here , their wounds can be completely healed and scarred over . if your character has any conditions , they remain . that sucks , but don't shoot the messenger .

your character starts off with a small sum of money in their account until they get a job !

they don't know how they got here , but they don't want to leave .

HOAppreciationWeek Day 5: God’s Garden

is full of weeds.

Whilst ik now that Hank is referencing the Parable of the Weeds, I like to think that he was able to find some peace in his final moments.

That the parable talks about humanity being patient and at the end of the day God will do the work for us (i’m shortening tf out of the parable but walk with me).

So for Hank, who has been walking and walking, God has finally seen Hank’s resilience and patience and decided it was his time to rest.

I think he deserves that.

Some attempt at a webweave for the fifth day of the Hank appreciation week^^

I felt so unwell about him when I made this, especially while going through his later passages in the book again ( which also made me want to re read again even more, but that's besides the point here) but. There's something so jarring to me about the way he begins to struggle pretty early in the book, even if the catatonic state only really sets at a later point.

On another note- I'm kinda sad that they mostly got rid of the religious aspect of his character in the movie ( Not only because I think it was quite interesting, but also because something about it made " God's garden is full of weeds" even more haunting to me </3

Anyway, I'm actually pretty content with how this turned out, so.

just thinking it over again and getting mad 😭 but even if book barkovitch were a minority, he would NOT be allowed to say the n word if he isn't black. like i'm half mexican and it would NOT be okay for me to use a slur for another race that isn't my own. also just cause he's got olive undertones doesn't mean he's a minority lmao. italians and spaniards have olive undertones and they're not minorities. you can just be white and have olive undertones, that doesn't automatically mean you're a poc or minority
