In addition to being a nice guy, Mr Komen is one of the few who gets that if we’re going to continue using the phrase “power violence”, it should be to describe something genuinely ugly, unnerving and aggressive that isn’t either some form of novelty xThrashx for idiots who like comedy lyrics and Muppet vocals, or something that’s for the bros who post on the B9 board but can get down with Weekend Nachos and Mind Eraser cos they’re so broootal. I got the Water Torture and Drug Problem records today and it was honestly like getting a package from Bovine back in the day - the same feeling that yes, this particular corner of hardcore, this weird, dark little end of it, was the bit that made sense to me.

Take this shit fucking seriously.There’s very little in hardcore in 2012 that makes me continue to feel connected or inspired, but this label is one of the things that consistently does, and I hope it continues for a long time.
