Q.20: 僕を赦せるか? Can you forgive me? A: 夢羽はゆるすよ ごめんなさい言ったもんね ゆるさないって言われたら看守さんもがんばれないよね I forgive you. You said you're sorry, after all. If you were told, "I won't forgive you," then you wouldn't be able to keep going, either, right?
notes:
to be totally explicit: the last line is her talking about addressing es specifically. i just didn't include the word "warden" in it because it doesn't sound natural to do that in english. it would literally be: "if you were told, "i won't forgive you," then the warden wouldn't be able to keep going, either, right?" i didn't want it to sound stilted when we wouldn't use a title like that normally in conversation.
there's something i like about muu's songs and how they keep talking about how apologies won't reach anyone. but she accepts es' apology here, and even says it's part of the reason she'll forgive es, too.
i also like the last line of this and her も ("either") and the implication of how not being forgiven also made her feel like she couldn't go on, and she doesn't want to do that to es, too. her thinking about how others feel… even if it's on a very basic level, after her T3 she's still at least trying to employ the framework that es offered her for thinking about others. the way it's basically, "this hurt me when it happened to me, so it hurts others, too." not wanting es to feel the same way when she knows how it feels…
i really love the way that muu feels like she's missing such foundational concepts and frameworks socially. and i know it probably feels very small to a lot of people when she does things like this. but it's definitely an improvement, and shows she's at least trying to think about and listen to things…
