John Carney is back with another winner — Power Ballad gives Paul Rudd one of his best roles in years as a wedding singer whose song for his daughter gets stolen by Nick Jonas’s character. The chemistry is electric, the music hits hard, and it captures that classic Carney magic of music as connection (with some real stakes this time).

A few structural nitpicks, but the heart and the songs carry it. If you loved Sing Street, this one’s for you.

Mattel's He-Man reboot borrows too heavily from other modern blockbusters and undercuts its own message.

There is a good #mastersoftheuniverse film buried in here. It is just not on screen.

Hoppers is entertaining, the cast is fantastic, the animation is beautiful, and is definitely one of Pixar's better movies of the last decade (Inside Out 2 is better). That said, some of the messaging gets a little muddy at the end.

I don't think it should be lost on people what the moral of Pixar's two movies this year are.

Hoppers: You know that politician that's doing bad things? Well stop caring so much, he might be a good person under all that.

Toy Story 5: Kids these days need to stop using technology and play with more toys like they did in the past.

Couple that with the storyline stripped from Elio and the way they blame Lightyear's lack of success on the kiss and it paints a really weird picture about what audience Pixar is trying to court.
