[ ♕ ] The general didn’t understand why she was here in the first place. She couldn’t cook, and the sweets that were lined on the counter most certainly were things she couldn’t eat.
Maybe all this uselessness was for the holy woman, who no doubt she know better than to eat this amount of filth. Or perhaps it was a gift for her men, which was only slightly better, but not by much.
To Fionn, sugar was a vile thing. Sure, she used to eat it all the time when she was younger. But then she was told what it would do to her, and that frightened her. It was by her father, of course. Who took fun out of everything. But his examples were so real, and she couldn’t be what he hated if she wanted to be loved.
But that slowly changed. When she tried sweets years later, she found she wasn’t able to take them like normal people. She’d gag and spit it out before threatening the one who offered it.
“Alright, you called me here,” She broke her vision from the richly decorated sweets to glare at Celka. “If you called me here to help move these, then you called the wrong person.”
Celka glanced at the general with some hesitation, before back to the sweets, organized by richness and sweetness, to her tastes, and what she hoped to be Fionn’s tastes. She’d asked around, but most of the responses regarding the general’s tastes in foods seemed to be shrugs, odd recommendations and suggestions, or laughter and wishes of “good luck with that”, and Celka felt like it would be out of place for a foreigner to prepare Plegian food for a Plegian native. Sweets had to do, yes?
“I called you here to ask you to help me eat them, actually. Or, rather, I wished for you to try them. In my homeland it was customary to repay a kindness with one in return, as it was in Ferox, and I came across these in a shop the other day, and I was hoping you might try some,” Celka responded, facing the general with a kind smile, hopefully portraying her intentions.
Of course, if asked, neither a native Laali or Feroxi would likely affirm that sweets were the best way to repay a rescuing, but Celka felt that perhaps a softer favor would be the best approach to the hardened woman.
“Forgive me - I wasn’t sure which types you liked the best, so I bought many. I’m not one for richer sweets myself, but traveling hasn’t presented many opportunities to have any.”
