Do you ever have that person in your life where you know that no purchaseable gift is gonna mean anything, so you start making weird stuff?
So right now the only TV channels I can access are the ones for toddlers.
And man, I though Jay-Jay the Jet plane looked bad! At lease they didn't give them legs!
So like, my little sister had to be moved from the care home she was in, and she's temporarily staying in an assisted living house that isn't being used.
I've traveled two hours so that we can stay with her until she moves in a couple of days.

Or maybe its from 2069, when we’ve developed the technology to send data to the past. You sent yourself a blank message as a test but as the email address you used to send it doesnt exist yet, it came up as no sender

OKAY KIDS, LET’S LEARN ABOUT THE UNIX EPOCH
So back in the early days of computers, when we were trying to build clocks to keep all our computers in sync, we tried a bunch of different ways to synchronize them in ways that both normal people could use and programmers could utilize.
We just tried saying “The current time is THIS date” and just storing that date as some text, but while that was easy for humans, it was a bunch of different numbers that worked together in funny ways and computers don’t play nice with a bunch of random, arbitrary rules.
Not much worked, until we realized that we needed a BASELINE to compare against, and a way to represent the current time that covers everybody. So we came up with Unix time, because Unix was the style at the time. Essentially, Unix time represents any given time by saying “How many seconds ago was 12:00 AM on January 1, 1970 in Iceland somewhere?”. Recent enough to keep the numbers relatively small, far enough that nothing computer-y would fall before it, and consistent enough that there’d be no discrepancy based on where you are.
So what happens when you see the date “December 31, 1969” on a buggy message like this is that the computer received a bunch of zeroes by mistake and went “Oh, this must be a message!” Then when it tried to interpret it, it got to the date, found a zero, and said “Zero seconds since the Unix Epoch? I’ll round down - this was sent at the last second of New Year’s Eve, 1969! They’ll be so happy to finally get their blank message.”
And then the computer traipsed off on its merry way, because computers are fucking ridiculous.
This is frankly more hilarious than the 1969 time traveler theory

Pro tip: if you’re signaled to pull over (whether you’re male or female) and you’re in a place that has no witnesses, turn your hazard lights on to acknowledge the officer’s siren, and drive to the nearest gas station or populated area. This is accepted protocol by every agency. You are not obligated pull over until you can do so safely. This includes personal safety. Understand your rights, brothers and sisters. There are disgusting examples of authority in this world.
HAZARD LIGHTS ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. IT IS NOT ACCEPTED PROTOCOL BY EVERY AGENCY. DO NOT JUST CONTINUE DRIVING WITH YOUR HAZARD LIGHTS IN CASE THE COP MIGHT THINK IT’S A LOW-SPEED CHASE.
I know that sounds dumb, but hear me out. My mother is a dispatcher for the local police station. I asked her about how to pull over for a cop and even brought up the use of hazard lights, and she told me that it is not always accepted. This is what she told me you can do in order to feel safe when pulling over:
Call the police. No, really. Call and tell the dispatcher where you are and that there is a cop behind you demanding you pull over. The dispatcher can and will stay on the line with you while they look up the area you’re in to see if it’s one of their station’s cops. Then, once the cop comes to your window, you can crack it open (it only has to be an inch!) while still on the phone with the dispatcher. This is definitely, 100% accepted protocol.
The dispatcher will verify that it is their own, real cop, and they will gladly stay on the line with you throughout your interaction with the officer. And God forbid this ever happens to any of you, but if something were to happen to you during this time, you’ve already contacted 911 and given your location to the dispatcher.
Please keep this in mind if you are ever requested to pull over and do not feel safe. The dispatcher will understand. Do not, however, continue to drive, because there might be the off-chance an officer will think you’re flat-out refusing to pull over (a well-lit, populated area might be a ways away).

In light of current bullshit, this might be a good idea for a LOT of people, not just women. Marginalized minorities of all stripes, take note. I hate taking up an emergency dispatcher’s resources, but i also hate seeing yet another fucked up news story about police harming citizens.

What is IncludeMe2?
IncludeMe2 is our campaign to promote disability acceptance in the world. Due to our small group size, we’re focused on our local area at the moment, but we hope that our actions will begin to bring about change across the UK and around the world.
We chose to focus on acceptance, as there are numerous other campaigns covering awareness. All of our presentations are designed to be interactive and engaging for the audience and include our genuine experiences with the wide range of disabilities in our group.
We hope that you all will support us as we continue with this endeavour.

You need a quiet environment to concentrate? No, we're not doing that.
Ah fuck. The quiet environment gets me every time. There are days when I can’t go in due to how loud it gets and I keep being told to go to the “Silent study zones”
The problem is, the one in the Library is always full, and next to a group study zone, and is super loud. (not to mention the heating is stuck on full) The other one is in the special needs area, where we have the braille room and blue light classroom. You’d think that would be fine, but the Music classrooms are one door down (which need I say, aren’t soundproof) and all I can hear is a fucking drumbeat and loud off-key singing which bounces around the rooms. The other zones are “off-limits” in case the staff need an impromptu meeting.
I keep being told “we can’t do anything about it” to which I call bull, You can spend 1 mil on revamping the IT floor to give it glass walls, but we can’t have a quiet study room that’s actually quiet?
Then again, considering I spent a year asking for blinds on the IT floor because students (Including myself) were having to look directly into the sun, for hours on end. We still don’t have those blinds and it’s halfway into the next year. we have students pitching in to buy som shower curtains because the priority was covering walls with plastic because “the chairs were making them dirty”
