Maverick
What was making Reagan extremely nervous was how Maverick was going to react to everything she had just told him. His question kind of surprised her, but of course she was going to answer him. “Because I learned that not all guys are going to be like him,” She replied to him. “I just, I couldn’t keep living my life in fear of getting into relationships because of what he did to me.” When he spoke, her heart melted. He was definitely nothing like her ex. “I-I really appreciate all that,” She said softly. “I left out a lot of disturbing details, but I feel like we should save that for another time.”
“That’s a very solid point, and I’m sorry if I’ve made you uncomfortable by asking that, but I was just genuinely curious.” He wasn’t usually one to apologize for a question he had or something he believed in affecting someone else emotionally in other cased, but given that this was an actual trauma and she so strongly overcame it—plus toxic relationships were fucked up. He didn’t want to put her through the memories of that any longer. However, aside from abuse and trauma, death as such, he was pretty unapologetic and he Maverick was perfectly okay with the backlash of that. Being a freethinker had its repercussions. “Of course, and I understand. Tell me what you’re comfortable with, Reagan.” It was very personal, he understood that completely.Â
